Got a quick question: How to transfer dns from registrar to verisign? Thanks in advance for any answer. My other question... Anyone know of a contrib that will allow me to enter new fields in the admin side product page?.

I have a bookstore osc and I don't want to use a template..

I want to have a field for Subtitle, ISBN, author, publisher, number of pages, hardcover/paperback, etc..

Is there a contrib that will allow me to add new fields?..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could help you..

I've just used this contribution to add 9 extra product fields..

It all looks fine, but I'm having a problem when it comes to updating the database with values for these new fields (and yes, I did create the new fields in the database). I can edit existing product info via admin and input values into the new fields and they're displaying fine on the input screen, but when I hit the preview button, the values are not carried through and I get a warning saying "no data uploaded". I've been through the admin/category.php file again to check my additions and they all seem to be as they should be according to the contribution instructions..

Can anyone suggest where the problem might be?..

Try posting the update sql and section passing the values to these fields..

Personally I use the product extra fields contribution...

I looked at that one, but had an eeeek! moment there are so many minor additions and fixes that it looked like a good hour's work just to figure out which one I should be downloading, then which of the subsequent fixes to apply, before even starting to get to grips with implementing it. This is my first osCommerce installation, so I'm trying to keep things reasonably simple until I get the hang of this php/sql stuff..

What do you mean by "update sql" and where would I find it?.

I can post the amended admin/category.php sections, but it's going to take up a deal of space here. Is there a more economical way to do this? Or better, can you tell me what I should be looking for in the code that specifically relates to the section passing the values to the new fields? I don't understand what I'm looking at enough yet to figure that out..

OK. I figured out the sql bit! There is no update sql with this contribution. You add new fields directly in phpMyAdmin by clicking on the products table and adding as many new fields as required, setting the type to varchar(n), Null to null and default to NULL..

And looking through the admin/categories.php file again to try and suss out what code I needed to extract, I found the error. Amazing what a good night's sleep can do! I'd only altered 2 of the 3 sets of field specs in the code..

<td class="main"><?php echo TEXT_PRODUCTS_NEW_NAME; ?></td>.

<td class="main"><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '24', '15')'&nbsp;'tep_draw_input_field('products_new_name', $pInfo->products_new_name); ?></td>.

Thanks for your help...
