Hi! I have been on Nutrisystem for 2 weeks now and lost 6.5 pounds. YEAH!!.

We go to the shore a lot and it's hard to keep the bars etc from melting in the heat- even in a cooler. Plus, it's hard to bring along the extras..

I also go to Mississippi twice a year for a week to help rebuild from Katrina. We stay at a camp where food is provided- not what I should be eating..

Do any of you have strategies to keep on the plan when away from home?.

Welcome to Nutrisystem & Congrats on your weight loss so far. I live right next to the beach and with a cooler and an ice pak my Nutrisystem bars stay cold all day. Just take your own food with you. Do you have a way to heat it? Wait til they see what you're having. I bet they'll be jealous! Good luck!..

Pack it in a cooler and take everything but the stuff you have to rehydrate. Most hotels have some sort of microwave if not in the room, in the lobby breakfast area. I live at the beach and it is easy except when we go to a fried seafood place. Right now, the fried shrimp call my name, thus, not much of a weight loss this week. Anyway, if the shrimp call your name too, I have found if I order a Shrimp poboy and only eat the shrimp, it works much better than a meal. I haven't found a place yet that won't substitute another cole slaw for the fries...

I plan to travel for 2 weeks with a (arry on & a purse. Looks like I'll have to sa(rifi(e my Instyler, or 2 pr shoes, to (arry my b,l,& dessert bars. Sigh!..

I just got back from New Orleans...and ate completely on plan the entire time. Mostly because I found it impossible to find healthy alternatives in the area. The bars stay perfectly fine and are still totally edible if they're a little bit melted. You just have to decide how much you want to get healthy...

Sounds like quite a bit of physical activity - so don't undereat if you are ramping up your calories burned by a big number..

BUT - you can stay mostly on plan by planning ahead. Take more veggies than carbs and protein. Stay away from sauces like mayo or cheese.

The lunch bars are really handy for light living. A bar with a protein and a big salad is a lunch or dinner...
