Has anyone found a way to make the soft serve taste anything like icecream. It's very strange consistancy makes me regret buying it. Just wanted to know if anyone knew a good tip to make it taste better...

I use a ninja it turns ice into snow...

How are you preparing it? Are you crushing the ice to a snow-like consistency?.

I've adapted the preparation instructions to include more ice and slightly less water and that gives me a very nice ice cream-like texture. The 'snow ice' really is the key and the Ninja personal blender is the only device I have found so far that can do it right. Good luck...

I use the medifast health mate blender.. What is the ninja?..

I make mine into a shake....8 ounces water and a handful of ice..

Same for the puddings. I use the shakes to make cookies. I don't like anything "as recommended" it seems. LOL..

If you search for 'Ninja Master Prep' blender, you'll find good sales on them now. Some are blue, some are black and they come with both small and large containers. The blades are super sharp and it's very powerful. There was a thread started recently about them; may help you as well...

I use the magic bullet (but when it dies I plan to replace with Ninja). Magic bullet is just like the medifast blender. I really love the soft serve, but it took finding a tip here to make me love it..

The tip that did it for me was (don't remember who said this, sorry) that if you are using the magic bullet you really need to blend it for at least 2 minutes. It just doesn't really become soft serve if you don't get your 2 minutes on blending in.

Ever since I started blending 2 minutes or more...I love the texture of it!.

I also add a tsp or two of sugar free syrup to some of the flavors. For example, I put some hazelnut sugar free torani syrup in the coffee ss. It is SO GOOD!..

Soft serve just does not happen in my house... so gave up... I make the chocolate mint into a shake... I love it that way. Good luck to you...

I love it....except that it makes me shiver! I always add about a tablespoon of WF choco syrup to the PB, Coffee and Choco flavors to add additional choco flavor. It makes the PB taste like Reese's ice cream...

I think the soft serve has a "frozen dessert" texture... definitely not ice cream. :P..

Just ordered a Ninja, I can't wait to get it and hope it works well!..

I like to mix mine with cold coffee and make into fudge drops. Just freeze, 30-60 minutes. They're yummy!!..

I actually have gotten creative with it:.

I put the ice in a bag and then I take out my rubber mallet and I hammer the ice into snow. Then I put that in my magic bullet and voila! ice cream..

...seriously. That's actually what I do..... LOL.

I have that PB-chocolate bon-bon recipe I posted in the recipes forum that you can check out too. Whole lot easier to do it that way than to smash the ice to bits. I make bon-bons with the ice cream a whole lot more than I make it the way the packet says to. LOVE the bonbons...

Here's my beef with the soft serve: it stays in that "soft serve" consistency long after it's lost it's cold... normally, soft serve should melt as it loses the cold, but it just... STAYS there... and it kind of creeps me out. So the last time I had it (quite a bit ago as I took a "long break" from Medifast and haven't tried it again yet) I put it in the freezer for a while. It seemed to help...
