First off, How safe is an Verisign SSL connection over a wireless network? Looking forward for any response. My 2nd question... I am doing a Verisign site for a friend who is running a non profit organisation. She will be selling products that allow her to generate revenue etc however she would also like to allow people to donate whatever amount they wish paying via the setup Credit Card payment module. Is this possible and how might I do it?.

Thanks for any answers..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an decent answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could give you an answer..

Hi Fimble,.

Thanks for such a fast response. Had a look in contribs, but can't find anything. Used donations as the search word. Don't know what I should be looking for?.

At worst you can use paypal for donations, they provide you buttons for this..

I will have a search too of the contributions area see if I can find anything..

You could set it up as an actual product, but then you would have to suggest prices as an option like.

50p.

1.00.

1.50 etc.

She is looking for the option of allowing visitors to donate without purchasing. And it will be on the charities Verisign site itself as opposed to another business allowing customers to select a charity to rec. a donation..

I envisage the option of going to make payment with an empty shopping cart and being able to enter a $value then proceed to checkout or credit card processing etc...?..

There's a book by Packt Publishing - "Deep Inside osCommerce The Cookbook" that has a good recipe for donations.

Link-.

It adds a donation filed at the checkout process. I just installed it and it works great. If you want a donation button elsewhere on the Verisign site that can be used outside of the checkout process, it's probably best just to add a paypal donate button. That's what I'm going to do. Keeping it in checkout without other purchases would mean modifying shipping options, tax, etc. Do-able for sure..

You have to look for the path of least resistance.. and least confusion for the customer..

Good luck.. I'd be interested to hear of what you end up with...
