Quick question... How much does one month of Nutrisystem food cost in Texas? Many thanks for any response. Another quick question... Any motorcycle enthusiasts on here? If so, this question is for you. About to take my first long trip of the riding season and my first trip on the Nutrisystem plan. Normally these trips involve eating at whatever fast food or greasy spoon we find along the road side.

I know I can pack up a few bars but I am worried about veggies and fruits. Its not like in a car trip where you can pack a big cooler. Any tips would be appreciated..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably know..

Individually wrapped bags of baby carrots do pretty well unrefrigerated in my experience. Since you'll be on the road it's likely you'll pass groceries and produce markets. Heck even some gas stations and truck stops sell fruit. But the most common thing would be salads. You could even get those at McDonalds...

Here's what I do. I eat muffins for breakfast with raisins. String cheese for the dairy and bread for the carbo. I will either eat all this in the room before heading out, or maybe take the muffin along to eat with the others. I eat a string cheese and an apple for my mid morning snack, both of these can be warm and will foot the bill. For lunch I take a bar, my favorite being the Trail Mix bar and at the table I either order veggies or a house salad to go with the bar.

Oh, by the way, I eat the 10am snack and the 3pm snack while riding. Since I have a Goldwing the cheese and apple fit nicely into the front left compartment. I pack several bottles of water for the day, up to 6 should to the trick. At dinner I just make the most sensible choice I can. At the very least just get a salad with chicken on it.

It can be done...you can stay on track. Just stay away from the crap eveybody else is eating and feel good about yourself...

1st... don't forget the water... water is very important. You lose more than you think when you're riding..

Plan on eating healthy even if you stop at a fast food place. The choice to eat healthy is a lifestyle and in most places, you can find something if you look hard enough..

We went on a ride and all they had was a tuna on toast which was mildly healthy....

Toss the bread to the side, portion out the tuna... eat the lettuce and tomato....

Commit to healthiness and strive for it regardless of the curve balls that are thrown...

If you have saddlebags or a place to store stuff, look into a "jetboil" stove. It packs down to the size of a nalgene water bottle and inlcudes the cooking cup, stand, fuel, and burner all in one compact unit. This bad boy will boil 2 cups of water in about 90 seconds, so you can use the nutri lunch containers. I have one and love it for motorcycle trips or camping. It makes a mean cup of coffee too.... About $70 for a jetboil, but well worth it...

Take the tuna or chicken salad w/youI don't care if it is cold or not personally. It is portable! Cheese sticks, meal bars (my favs). V8 low sodium for a veggie serving. (again, I don't care if it is cold or not). I agree, you an usually find a grilled chicken salad on the road. I love the Wendys' Ceasar (the parm is my daily fat) and the McDonalds chicken ceasar w/their low fat Balsamic dressing.

I find that I can hardly stomach the smell of FF anymore!.

I take my daily snack/dessert with me on the road too...I need to munch about mid-afternoon.

(no, I don't "ride" except I live in my car each day!) I do pack a small cooler tho..
