How many points do I get on the Nutrisystem program?

My 1st question is: How many points do I get on the Nutrisystem program? Hoping for any response. Second question.. I'm thrilled to have dropped nearly 2 pants sizes in a little over 2 months on Nutrisystem!!! My shirts are huge - my v-neck sweaters are coming dangerously close to an inappropriate cleavage revealing level...for what cleavage I have.

While it's a great problem to have, it's still a problem.

I'm a single parent so I can't afford to buy too many clothes whenever my wardrobe gets too big and baggy. I was lucky enough to have a friend hand me down some smaller sizes, but even those are getting big..

So to all of you who have dropped sizes, how and when did you buy clothes? Did you wait to buy every 2 sizes or so? Did you go to second hand stores? Did send out an sos to friends?.

Any tips would be welcome!..

Thanks! My clothes are just looking silly now..

I've always stayed away from second hand, only because I felt it was for people who really needed it financially and I didn't want to take from someone who really needed it. Turns out I may be really needing it now, lol. On the plus, every time I go shopping I'll also be donating the bigger stuff, right?..

Salvation army is a great place to get new clothes...

You can also try ebay and craigslist. As good weather approaches - ask any friends that like to garage sale to lookout for clothes your current size and smaller...

Check yahoo groups freecycle in your area. You can post wanted ads and look for offerings of clothes in your new size & smaller. Don't be afraid to hit up friends and family members. Just ask for basics - black pants, khaki's etc...

I agree with all the above. But always buy clothes that fit, as Mimi says. It makes you feel better and the weight loss is more recognizable. Also, be ruthless and donate your old clothes! Get rid of them!<G>.

Great NSV! Congratulations..

And the black mini poodles..

Great tips everyone, thanks so much. I may have to hit up some consignment shops this weekend...

My best friend last year became the local Goodwill store! I was changing sizes about every 3 weeks so I did not want to buy new clothes that oftencrazy waste of money. So, for $4 I could buy a pair of jeans or capris and for less than that a shirtit became a game to me and I loved it. I would take everything home, wash it and freshen it up then wear it. It was such a boost to have on clothes that fitI felt better and people always noticed. When those clothes became too big, I would simply donate them back and head to the racks again. I still like to go and find a bargain even though I am past goal!..

Check out the clothes trade thread. I'm on vacation right now packing up to hit the road home so can't look it up for you, but there's a thread to trade clothing. I'm 6'1" and found someone just a few inches shorter who will get some of my jeans..

I'm doing inventory of my closet this weekend and will be posting more on that thread..

With my height, I do most of my shopping online, but I can fit into off-the-rack tops a good share of the time. So, I'm hoping to find some clothes on that thread, too...

I happened to mention something in my lunch room at work (I work in a school), and a bunch of co-workers offered clothes! Great for me, but they were offering them to me because they were too small for them, lol...

I'm having a similar issue. Since I'm bottom heavy to begin with, I'm going through pants much faster than shirts... my solution... I bought dresses!..

That's a great idea! I didn't even think of that! Especially with spring and summer coming...

Someone mentioned Yahoo Freecycle they have one in my area. You just list what you need by size and all and other folks will just meet you somewhere to share those items. I passed on baby clothes that way. I did the mistake of cleaning out closets last fall gave away alot of 10 and 12's that I would love to have now. I also shop the outlets on clothing sites. Like coldwater creek.

It's amazing what I can get that way...

Oh and it's almost getting spring garage sale time...

Good point, Jayne! As a fellow amazon woman, I also do most of my shopping online. I usually end up trying stuff on in the stores, so I know the size, and then go home an order in a tall/long online (why do they never stock talls, but always have them online?????).

I usually can't buy pants in second hand stores because of my height. I've looked on the thread, but so far no dice...

How tall are you , Nicole? Have we had this discussion??.

Here's the link for the clothes trade thread:.

It would be great to see more posts on thereit can be so expensive purchasing new clothes and I plan to do some serious shopping once I hit my goal, but in the meantime, I'm finding some blouses I haven't been able to wear in a long time. Yay!..
