First off, How many points a I allowed on Nutrisystem? Thanks for any answer. Second question.. I am wondering if we can eat yellow summer squash?? A friend gave me a bunch of it today at work. Thank you...

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could give you help..

Thank you for your answer. I couldn't imagine not being able to eat it. I also steam it. I don't want to cheat. I see you are doing really good!! Tomorrow is my 1st week weigh in. Thanks again...

Since Summer is here, I've tried grilling my veggies....Here's what I do:.

Cut up a zuchini.

Cut up a squash.

Quarter an onion.

Clean some mushrooms and remove the stem.

Soak Skewers in water for about 1/2 hour before putting veggies on them..


1/4 cup oil (canola - evo - whatever you like).

Sprinkle seasoning salt.

2 tblspoons of FF Italian dressing.

Salt and pepper.

Place veggies on skewer and coat with oil mixture and grill.....MMMMMM.

Cook them for about 20 minutes or so..

Yellow squash is my favorite veggie....I eat it all the time. I like to cut mine up into slices and grill it...I spray with a little Pam and sprinkle dried herbs on top (they vary depending on what I have on hand) Soooooo Yummy!!!!..

You shouldn't eat spaghetti squash..

Yellow summer squash is fine...

Thanks for all the ideas for squash. I'm sure glad to know we can eat them. I steamed one for supper tonight. I put essence & chili powder on them. Sounds bad I know, but it really tasted good. Summer is great for all the fresh garden veggies.

It is ready in the gardens now also. Yum Yum but I can't stop at one ear so I just won't have any..

Thanks again for all the response to a simple squash.. I was scared to ask and now am glad I did...

Sorry but that is wrong. You CAN have spaghetti squash per the Nutrisystem dietician's posts I have seen in the past. Many Nsers place the Italian saucey meals over the spaghetti squash to give the "pasta" feeling..

Oh sure, sumer squash is low carb and so I know it's okay. Just steam it...

If you do eat it, just eat 1/2 cup. I believe it is loaded with carbs...

Spaghetti squash and the other SUMMER squash are just FINE - yellow (aka crookneck) & zucchini alll low calories.

It's the WINTER squash you need to watch out for - acorn & butternut are 1/4 cup per serving and should be limited yams are carbs.

Hi , I need a recipe fro spaghetti squash with tomatoe sause, And Does anyone have any good recipes for zucchini, I find then pretty bland tasting so far. Thanks!..
