First question I got is How many Nutrisystem points are in a bottle of lambrini light? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Second question.. A while back people were posting about the omelets they were making in ziplock bags in the microwave - and both manufacturers were NOT recommending them because of possible breakdown into the food because they weren't "made" for this type of cooking................

Low and behold - the new "steamer" bags are now made for this type of cooking. So we can start that super fast, super easy individual omelets again ........... using the steamer bags by glad and ziplock!.

Just incase people hadn't noticed them - the website has all kinds of "cooking" ideas ... and not just for veggies...

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can answer it..

I know they had a lot of "discussion" on the recipe board about 2-3 months ago on using the ziplock bags for omelets..

I think that there are recipes on the Glad site - but I'm not positive that they omelets are there - I'd have to go check again. I had gotten an email from the glad company the other day and saw the "cooking" in the bags and thought of the discussion here a fe months ago. It had gotten rather "heated" about how dangerous it was! Now evidently it's not dangerous with this new product..

Edit: This is Glad's listing:.

They have an omelet right in their index.

Here is ziplocks listing:.

Welcome back Pam. I know you had a fabulous time! The pictures I did see were fantastic..

I love these bags too. I am not a big fan of "cooking" in the microwave - BUT these bags make me happy to do it. I probably shouldn't do this but I sometimes "reused" the bag. If I make broccoli at "lunch" instead of a salad - I will save it for dinner when I make the rest of the broccoli for dinner. I've done it with green beans too. But I've only reused them once - then I toss them.

No harm no foul. I wonder how many times I could re-use them???.....may have to experiment with that too..

I'm thinking of trying some of the other recipes they show on the websites. A few of the chicken ones sound pretty good - and I'm sure we could make them Nutrisystem friendly if they aren't already. Oh heck I may even try that omelet ... then if I like it (using eggbeaters) I may start taking breakfast to work too - then use my breakfast at home time for a quick mile or two...

I am going to have to get me some of these. Thanks for the links. I may have to try the apple instead of doing it in a bowl...

I picked a few up today. I am going to try a few of the recipes..

Kat, I've reused the bags, also. After the first time, I rinse them it out carefully and then prop it (open) over my wooden spoons to dry. They feel brittle after the second time, though, so I always throw them out at that point. (I use the large bags filled to capacity so the microwave time is 4-5 mins. The smaller bags with a shorter microwave time might be okay to reuse more times.) I also put just veggies in mine, maybe with a little Mrs. Dash or other seasoning. I didn't find anything on the Glad site saying not to reuse them...
