I just started the Nutrisystem system on Monday. I am eating only what is on my menu planner without adding anything. I'm starving. I saw we are allowed to add some food at meals, but I don't know how many calories are allowed per day. Right now I'm at 1100 and 1300 calories per day, but still hungry. Can someone please help me? Thank you so much!..

Thanks so much Pam! Yes, I am on the Basic Plan. I would like to take off 30 to 40 lbs. I think that's my problem, I'm not eating enough of the free foods. I'll give that a try!.

Spread out your meals...have a little bit every hour..

Let's lay out a typical day:.

7AM Breakfast Cereal/Milk.

WATER.

8:30AM Greek Yogurt (90 calories, 15g protein, 0g fat) and 3/4 cup blueberries.

9AM Herbal Tea or Coffee.

10:30AM Celery Sticks.

WATER.

All morning: Sugar Free Gum.

Noon: HUGE SALAD with 100 calories worth of chicken breast, low or no calorie dressing (Note: My salad bowl is a huge mixing bowl...I would use the kitchen sink, but it isn't portable.) Spinach, Mixed Greens, Cucumber, Tomato, Walden Farms Dressing (zero calorie), a few spritzes of WishBone Asian Dressing...I'm in heaven..

WATER.

1:30 Chocolate Lunch Bar and Coffee.

3:00 Celery, Jimaca, Radishes (relish tray to nibble) with a Diet Coke.

WATER.

4:30 Cottage Cheese and Strawberries mixed with a bit of Sugar Free Cheesecake Pudding mix...died and gone to heaven!.

Tea, Coffee or Water.

Need I go on? This can go from 7AM til 10PM, easily!.

Sugar-Free Popsicle before bed..

Congratulations on your decision to start the Nutrisystem program! As you can see, we have great members here in our community who offer wonderful support and advice. Be sure to check out the other forums too....Newbies is a great place to meet other beginners, and Dietitian's Corner provides feedback in regards to program questions. They also have a list of FAQ's in their forum which are very informative. Another helpful tool is the Search Feature. Click on "Search" then Click on Advanced Search. Many topics have already been discussed and answers shared..

Pam is right. Spread out your food. I start early. 5:00 am egg, Nutrisystem breakfast choice, coffee w/light soy milk. 9:00 coffee w/light soy milk, 10:00 banana, 12:00 NS, large saladlettuce, tomato, celery, onion, cilantro, cabbage w/1TBS non-fat dressing. 2:00 dairy/protein snack (usually yogurt for me), 5:30 NS, veges.

6:30 sugar free jello, Nutrisystem desert (usually one of the chocolate bars). Drink water all day long. Every time I am hungry I first drink a big glass of water then eat as above.

I got serious about Nutrisystem mid-December. I needed to loose 30 lbs. I have lost all of it as of mid-March. I am sitting at 125 lbs. YEA!!! I am 56 years old and didn't think I could ever loose the middle age bulge. I am so looking forward to summer!! Good luck to you and know the system works..
