That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could help you..
Can't wait to try this!!! Thanks for posting!!!.
I think I will definitely try this.. I love "fried" cheese!!! (that would be part of my initial weight problem) Thanks for the healthier alternative!!..
This was just too good to use just as a snack, so tonight I decided to turn this into a meal. Here are the stats as best I could figure:.
3 lowfat cheese sticks.
(180 cals,27g. protein, 7.5g. fat, 1g carb).
1 Tbsp. Italian Bread crumbs.
(I poured out 2 Tbsp. to coat but only used about half ( 27.5 cals, 5.5g carb).
1/4c. Marinara sauce.
(40 cals, 2g. fat, 3.5g carb).
(just enough to dip in before coating w/bread crumbs).
Total = 247.5 cals, 27g. protein,10g. carbs, 720mg. sodium,.
60% RDA for calcium.
Similar stats to the thin crust pizza (220 cals, 10g. fat, 24 g. carbs, 760 mg. sodium, and only 20% RDA for calcium)..
I paired my 3 breaded cheese sticks w/a salad and 1c. cooked green beans..
Fantastic idea! Have ya'll found the Hungry Girl website yet? If just found it and it's full of great info - she has a different variation of a fried cheese stick on her site too. She's basically trying to give lower cal/fat alternatives to the foods we all love (and miss!) - I think she's following WW point system so not all foods are allowed or will work with Nutrisystem but they are good to know for the long haul!.
You just got my vote with the oven fried cheese stick. sounds absolutely aweome! and your 3-stick meal calculation sounds like a winner too. thanks for sharing. Best of luck to you in your Nutrisystem journey!..
My favorite food! Thank you for the recipe and idea. I would have never thought of it!..
This sounds great, I am starting my second month on Nutrisystem and am pleased with the food choices, this is new and sounds yummy. I will definitely try this 1..
