Your question was: How long did Nutrisystem take to work for you?.
A lot depends on how much you weigh now. Unless you are over 200 pounds it is not feasible to lose 15 more pounds by June. If you are over 200 pounds you will need to be 100% on plan and add some exercise. Please be patient though. If you want this weight to stay off you need to accept the process...
Except for the first week (maybe two), I don't think you should lose more than 1 or 2 pounds a week. I have been averaging only one-half pound a week for quite awhile now, and I'm very happy with that because my body feels like it is adjusting to the new weight. Call a Nutrisystem counselor and discuss your concernsmaybe there is something you're overlooking that can help you on your journey. Good luck!..
You need to remember that Nutrisystem is NOT The Biggest Loser. This program is set up for a healthy weight loss with minimal to moderate exercise. You should be loosing 1 to 2 pounds per week. To loose 30 pounds should take you between 30 to 15 weeks. If you really want to try to speed that up, increase your exercise a little bit.
But you need to remember, you didn't gain all this weight all at once and you won't loose it that way either. Also, if you want your skin to have time to recover and shrink back to fit your shrinking body you want to loose a slow and steady rate. I also continually hear that those who loose slower and more likely to keep the weight off. My belief is that is because when you take longer to loose the weight it gives you the time to really change your behavior and to establish the new habits that are going to support you during maintenance. To keep the weight off you are going to need to accept that you need to change your lifestyle, not just diet for a time and then go back to your original eating habits.
I wish you much success on your journey and the patience to let the process unfold the way it was meant to...
Sounds like it is working just great!! I lost 1 - 1.5 pounds a week. It took years to put it on. It will take months to take it off. You have 2 1/2 months until June. At 2 pounds a week, you will probably lose 18 - 20 pounds by June..
Keep at it - it works!!..
Sure seems to me that Nutrisystem is workingyou are doing amazingly well! Ditto to what everyone above has said about 1-2 lbs. a week being a reasonable ballpark expectation for a rate of loss and that Nutrisystem is not an unhealthy crash diet. One pound equal to 3500 calories, and it takes time to shed that through a diet that creates a calorie deficit of a few hundred calories a day and preferably some exercise, if exercise is possible. Anyone's actual rate of loss will vary according to genetics, gender, amount of muscle, etc., which is why there is no "typical" pace. Some people with a lot to lose might lose more than that ballpark pace because the have a greater daily calorie deficit from being on the diet, and some people record big losses their first week because they are losing water weight as they transition to a healthier, lower bad-carb way of eating. Again, you're doing great!..
