Hi everyone. I have been on Nutrisystem for about 2 1/2 months. I have lost 10 lbs but notice a big difference in my clothes. I have been reading that some people are down so much...how do you do it? It is hard to stay on track sometimes when I cook for my family...I like to take bites of theirs and sometimes if we go out I get a salad. It seems that now I am staying around the same weight but know I can lose more. I do work out hard 2 days a week for one hour. Any suggestions of how all of you are losing so much?..

Your question was: How do you lose a lot of weight with Nutrisystem?.

Those bites add up. Quickly sometimes. Try to stop that habit, especially if you want to speed up your losses. And also, measure in inches. Sometimes you lose inches even if the scale doesn't move much. And each person loses differently.

The first 15-20 came off fast, but these last few have taken forever. My body is adjusting as I go, and even though I only lost 3-4 pounds last month, my sizing changed a lot. So just keep at it, try to stay 100% and the scale will keep moving...

Try chewing gum when you are preparing their food!..

I agree with Gracie about gum- I live by it!.

Also- can you try to incorporate another work out in during the week? Awesome that you're doing 2 sessions of 1 hour, wondering if you could add 1-2 more work outs per week, even if they're only 20-30 mins a piece.

That might be the trick you need..

Good luck!.

Erin - it seems like you already know what the problem is, you just need help stopping that habit. Use the chewing gym advice, or snack on some veggies while you're cooking. Whatever you need to do, you gotta stop taking "BLT's." While it may not seem like much, it could be seriously affecting your weight loss.

Donna, I'm so glad someone else knows about BLT's. I'm a former weight watcher too and the one thing I will always remember from those meetings are them talking about BLTs...

Thanks everyone for the encouragement, and I am going to try chewing gum while making dinner for the family. I stayed completely on track yesterday with not on "BTL" all day. I think the will power is the hardest but you feel so good when you actually stick to it. Thanks again!..

Ahhh the dreaded B (bites) T (tastes) and L (licks). They add up more than we think. To avoid those nasty BTLs I chew gum while cooking or imagine something really and truly gross is in what I am making. Sometimes it's hard to resist but it is for the greater good. I looks like you are off to a great start...

Erin, knowing something is not the same as doing it and all the advice I read here is right on target and, it sounds like you are already aware of the problem. In my case I have studied all kinds of information about dieting until I swear I know as much about the subject as anyone. My problem is trying to break bad habits. I've just started the NS-D and until this morning all I have been monitoring is my blood-sugar and that was ana amazing motivator, (the readings are falling like a stone)..

This morning I gave in to the urge to weigh and I'm losing a pound a day. Two things about that, number one, I'm a male; and number two it's early in the game. Men, typically, lose a lot in the beginning and then join the ladies at a much slower pace of weight loss. For me it's a mind-set, I WILL do this and one way is to stay on the Nutrisystem program, EXACTLY. NUC - No Unnecessary Calories. No bites, no licks, no snacks, no, "this little bit won't hurt"..

Good luck to us all..

Bill..

Eat huge salads..

Post frequently (to be accountable to others)..

Make yourself 100%. 99% will slip to 95% to 90% to 50%...and then you're not losing...

This is not "per program", but I think daily weighing is more often useful than not useful. It gives you some kick in the ass for cheats and some feedack for progress. Weekly weighins can be too infrequent.

Even worse (but similar) is when people cheat and then say "but I won't look at the scale" or "I won't post the weight". MEASURE AND POST THE TRUTH. Good or bad. It will hold you accountable...

It should be want power, not will power. You can do it!!.

Be sure to log all your food, even your little BLT's....you'll see how much that adds up..

Good luck!..

That is wonderful advice, ApolytonGP!! That's exactly what happened to me. I started cheating little by little, and then it was like an everyday thing. Then I started slacking on my exercise. But now I'm 100% back on track, and I even lost 2 more lbs this week...

When I first started I noticed I would keep tasting the food I was cooking for my family to "see if it tasted ok" Now I realize my BTL were not helping me stayon track at all. So I have quit doing that and I am doing so much better now...

Good girl. I'm proud of you. Excellence becomes a habit...

Good aha. More than 50% of dieting women underestimate calories by at least 20% (according to science testing). It looks like you figured out one source of the "leakage".

Good luck and get slim! You will be so happy with the result and proud of your work...

Hi erin, I am just getting ready to start NutrisystemI do know that with you taking bites from the meals that you cook for your family, that they do have calories, fat and so on. As an ex-weight watcher, they call that BLT's.

(bites, licks and tastes) It may be something that's holding you back. Try not to sample their meals and see if that makes a difference. Good luck.
