My first question is: How do I report someone to godaddy for stealing content from my website?.

My next question is: Sometimes we acquire HostGator names that either mean something in another language or domains that are obviously 'English', but you are unsure if they are a real word.

Some may say go to google translator for foreign words: The problem is google translator quite often does not translate single words effectively or at all.

Also another point one may want to know, if my HostGator name is a foreign word, is it used regularly in the native tongue, or is it an obscure word that not many people use, then again maybe there is another word that means the same thing which is used far more regularly.

As for english words: Some words if you look them up on online dictionaries are obviously slang and not real dictionary words but they come up in some online dictionaries as a dictionary word which may be confusing. So if you have a word you think may be a dictionary word but may just be slang or none of the mentioned then post here to seek answers Please do not post obvious words or words that can be easily looked up for the answer. This is not a thread for the 'lazy' People from other countries please give your input People who consider themselves grammar buffs please give your input.

My two HostGator names:. I originally regged this name because I found it pleasing to the eye and thought it was cool, after posting it elsewhere, namepros user 'ergo' pointed out that it means 'sucking' in Russian. Is this common use of the word? When I look on google, it looks like it may also mean 'sauce' as in ketchup, BBQ sauce etc in other countries.

On the 'English' side of things I have, I think this is not a dictionary word but I am not completely certain.

Please feel free to share your knowledge..

Your question was: How do I report someone to godaddy for stealing content from my website?.

My knowledge of Russin also is very basic but I do know that the language is normally expressed in the Cyrillic Alphabet, which would make pretty meaningless to the average Russian...

Lol, and in german. I remember the story of an old german man standing in amazement that they had a whole "poison shop" in england..

You learn something new everyday.

Certainly wouldn't want that gift I understand your take on IDN's for international HostGator names.

On the other hand if a HostGator does mean something in ascii (English) keyboard letters in another language, then, people from other nationalities might be either laughing at your HostGator or thinking, what the heck was he/her thinking. Imagine I made a blog with the HostGator name because I think it sounds cool, then a whole lot of Russian people are laughing going his blog means sucking..

To be fair there has been a fair amount of Transliteration going on at the HostGator Name level over the years in both Russian and Arabic. How else could you make HostGator names work when the natural script is not supported? Of course we also used to send messages by Telegraph using Morse Code, but you don't see so much of it these days...
