Got a question, hope someone can answer... How can you know that a web site has Verisign SSL certificate? Thanks in advance for any answer or 2. My 2nd question... Hi There,.

I know there are many menu options in the contributions that I can choose from, however I am looking for the input from others based on there knowledge of their suggested menu and it's integration into my actual site..

If you have a look at my site.

HERE.

You will see on the left hand side I have 2 menus. The first is for shop by brand the 2nd is by catagory..

Its the shop by brand I have a problem with, this being that there is too many to list in it's current format (there are more to be added than currently showing)..

I was going to swap this for a simple drop down menu option, however with the vast amount of usage of different menus that would of been used on here I thought I would seek some opinions first.

Thanks for your time guys..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could assist you..

Looks like you are using a template so exact help would be difficult..

In my opinion, I would use a standard style drop down menu for the Brands search and expand some on the categories search..

Not sure if there are any drop down menu's in the contributions section since osC comes with one...

Hey Richardo,.

The best I can do is give you the original code from a standard osC install which creates the manufacturers [brands] infobox with the drop down menu..

This is usually in the column_left.php file to call for the infobox:.

If ((USE_CACHE == 'true') && empty($SID)) {.

Echo tep_cache_manufacturers_box();.

} else {.

Include(DIR_WS_BOXES'manufacturers.php');.

}.

This is the manufacturers.php file:.

<?php.

/*.

$Id: manufacturers.php,v 1.19 2003/06/09 22:17:13 hpdl Exp $</P> <P> osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions.

<A href="http://www.oscommerce.com">http://www.oscommerce.com</A></P> <P> Copyright (c) 2003 osCommerce</P> <P> Released under the GNU General Public License.

*/</P> <P> $manufacturers_query = tep_db_query("select manufacturers_id, manufacturers_name from "TABLE_MANUFACTURERS" order by manufacturers_name");.

If ($number_of_rows = tep_db_num_rows($manufacturers_query)) {.

?>.

<! manufacturers //>.

<tr>.

<td>.

<?php.

$info_box_contents = array();.

$info_box_contents[] = array('text' => BOX_HEADING_MANUFACTURERS);</P> <P> new infoBoxHeading($info_box_contents, false, false);</P> <P> if ($number_of_rows <= MAX_DISPLAY_MANUFACTURERS_IN_A_LIST) {.

// Display a list.

$manufacturers_list = '';.

While ($manufacturers = tep_db_fetch_array($manufacturers_query)) {.

$manufacturers_name = ((strlen($manufacturers['manufacturers_name']) > MAX_DISPLAY_MANUFACTURER_NAME_LEN) ? substr($manufacturers['manufacturers_name'], 0, MAX_DISPLAY_MANUFACTURER_NAME_LEN)'..' : $manufacturers['manufacturers_name']);.

If (isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['manufacturers_id']) && ($HTTP_GET_VARS['manufacturers_id'] == $manufacturers['manufacturers_id'])) $manufacturers_name = '<b>'$manufacturers_name .'</b>';.

$manufacturers_list .= '<a href="'tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, 'manufacturers_id='$manufacturers['manufacturers_id'])'">'$manufacturers_name'</a>.

';.

}</P> <P> $manufacturers_list = substr($manufacturers_list, 0, -4);</P> <P> $info_box_contents = array();.

$info_box_contents[] = array('text' => $manufacturers_list);.

} else {.

// Display a drop-down.

$manufacturers_array = array();.

If (MAX_MANUFACTURERS_LIST < 2) {.

$manufacturers_array[] = array('id' => '', 'text' => PULL_DOWN_MANUFACTURER);.

}</P> <P> while ($manufacturers = tep_db_fetch_array($manufacturers_query)) {.

$manufacturers_name = ((strlen($manufacturers['manufacturers_name']) > MAX_DISPLAY_MANUFACTURER_NAME_LEN) ? substr($manufacturers['manufacturers_name'], 0, MAX_DISPLAY_MANUFACTURER_NAME_LEN)'..' : $manufacturers['manufacturers_name']);.

$manufacturers_array[] = array('id' => $manufacturers['manufacturers_id'],.

'text' => $manufacturers_name);.

}</P> <P> $info_box_contents = array();.

$info_box_contents[] = array('form' => tep_draw_form('manufacturers', tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, '', 'NONSSL', false), 'get'),.

'text' => tep_draw_pull_down_menu('manufacturers_id', $manufacturers_array, (isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['manufacturers_id']) ? $HTTP_GET_VARS['manufacturers_id'] : ''), 'onChange="this.form.submit();" size="'MAX_MANUFACTURERS_LIST'" style="width: 100%"')tep_hide_session_id());.

}</P> <P> new infoBox($info_box_contents);.

?>.

</td>.

</tr>.

<! manufacturers_eof //>.

<?php.

}.

?>.

You will have to play around with the above code in order to create the drop down list. The standard osC has options in the admin section as how to display it - drop down, show all, etc....

Good luck!..
