Before I ask my question, I want to ask: How can I upload files to godaddy.com domain using FTP?.

My main question is: Are most people now looking at aftermarket names instead of finding available .coms .. even if longer , I still think there are some good names to be found if you do some homework and use your imagination , or maybe you are a fan of other extensions and finding plenty ???..

Your question was: How can I upload files to godaddy.com domain using FTP?.

Agree with Jeff. I know I have shifted towards the aftermarket from when I started. Doing TDNAM rather than drops.

Merry christmas everyone..

Yeah I would also have to agree with Jeff. The secondary market offers much more quality domains now...

Aftermarket.

But coming up with your own gems is more fun (just not as profitable...usually).

There are a ton of great domains that may be obtained by simply emailing the WHOIS contact and making an offer.

Anyone here having any success with this method?..

I have never tried that (email whois method) I must admit it is fun to try and find something new to register..

My biggest sales by far have been from hand regs. However, I've shifted most of my attention to TDNAM Firesale... I've gotten a lot of nice domains for $13 that way. There are some nice gems to be found, especially ones with age.

I haven't made a lot of sales since shifting, but I've sort of taken on a "collecting" focus rather than a "sales" focus for the time being. Occassionally I'll try to sell a few of my lesser domains in effort to streamline my portfolio. And then there are those times when I reg a few domains that I wish I hadn't..

No try before, I backorder or aftermarket to grab it..

But it will higher price...

Emailing owners of lower quality names doesn't make a lot of sense as such owners tend to have unrealistic expectations. Stick to higher value names and you'll do well...

I was thinking good names where the owner thinks a hundred bucks is a lot of money for a HostGator he's not going to renew. That way you beat everyone on the drop...

Well there are some good ones left , just look at this gem I found.

Jan-feb-mar-apr-may-jun-jul-aug-sep-oct-nov-dec.com.

Or maybe this one ? the acronym jfmamjjasond.com.

24hoursaday7daysaweek366daysaleapyear.com.

X-m-a-s-d-a-y.com.

Oh so many choices !!!!!!!!!!.

I was going to register them , but I bought beer instead !!!!!! lol..
