I found it more powdery than Kraft Dinner but definitely not metallic. It was nothing than some paprika or hot spices couldn't fix...
I found christina gray's macaroni w/ beef ole recipe which was sooooooooo good for me. try searching for it. or if you look up her profile you can find a link to her Dukan Diet recipes. I love the mac n cheese entrees now!..

I bumped the mac and cheese with beef ole recipe of mine in case you wanted it. I've never had a bad mac and cheese before but I have gotten a few of the Fettuchini alfredos that were like that. The sauce was dark brown and just YUK!!!! Hopefully the rest of the ones you bought are still good!!..
I will not buy any nourish mac and cheese or any of the powdered ones. I think they are all to old now. Some of the advance I have had lately are getting that way..
Chris I used your Ole recipe but modified it a bit with what I had and it sure makes it much better..
It is interesting to me that I haven't seen anyone post anything about LOVING the mac and cheese........

I had the mac and cheese for dinner tonight, I may be the only one around that actually likes it! I prepared it with boiling water that had cooled for one minute, I let it sit for 15 minutes, added just a few tomato pieces to it then I poured it into a green bell pepper and baked it for 30 minutes. It was very good..
I don't always prepare it with the pepper, but always add tomato to it...
I love it!!! My dinner order is always 14 mac & cheese and 14 burgers!! The main thing is to use boiling water, make sure it is sealed (I put a dinner plate on top of the cup) and let it sit for a really long time. I do either add a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese, or make the mac & cheese w/shrimp bake posted by mostblstmom (.

Oh - I really like the Mac & Cheese however, when it's been around too long and/or stored in a warm place the powdered cheese sauce turns and then it's rather nasty (and disappointing - lmao)....
I, too, like the mac and cheese but always allow it to sit for much longer than directed and insure that it is well 'mixed' both before and after the sitting time. I absolutely love the recipe that Judi refers to above...but actually prefer it without the shrimp added...
I use the mac & ch and any of the other pasta lunches (including the minestrone soup) when I pack my lunch. Use a metal container, add just a few pieces of your own pasta (takes away the metallic taste) & fill with boiling water. Shake to blend. I make it in the morning & eat it at lunchtime. It is great. (I didn't like the pasta lunches at all until I figured this out)...
A few pieces of pasta, can add quite a few calories. If the powdery metallic flavor is too strong, I'd sift some out, before I added more pasta. JMO...

I really enjoy the Mac and Cheese, I add broccoli and a wedge of laughing cow cheese. I let it sit for much longer than it is suppose to to it absorbs better. Other ideas are using your protein serving and cut up 1 fat free hot dog and mix it up. Tomatoes are also a good add in. For the Beef Mac and Cheese I usually add in 1 veggie burger cut up in tiny pieces..
Baking the mac and cheese can also make a huge difference in the flavor. Add some minced onion and mushrooms for another tasty combo!..
Here is another person that LOVES the Mac n Cheese...course I am a pasta lover, maybe that is why.. LOL..
I had a few, and never ordered them again. bleh. but, I put I slice of 30 calorie fat free sharp cheddar cheese in it, and it wasnt half bad after that...

Chili Mac n' Cheese.
For all you macaroni lovers out there, here's another very easy way to change it up. This will count as two dinners, but it will taste better the next day. It's so easy, it's not really a recipe..
1 chili dinner.
1 mac and cheese dinner.
1 T minced garlic.
1/4 yellow onion*.
1/2 bell pepper*.
1/2 can diced tomatoes any flavor you like, I used rotel.
3 T sour cream (cream cheese, cottage cheese, laughing cow... would work too).
Spices of your choice. I used 1 t chili powder. cumin and oregano at 1/4 t each.
**You can add an additional protein serving of lean ground beef 96/4 or boca burger.
3 T low fat cheddar cheese.
1 T panko crumbs.
Garlic powder and few sprays of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray.
Make mac n' cheese dinner and set aside. Saute garlic and veggies in broth or a little extra virgin olive oil until tender, then mix in mac and cheese dinner, chili dinner, tomatoes, sour cream and any additional spices you might enjoy. Put in baking dish and top with cheddar cheese mix. Bake at 350 until warmed through and the cheese is bubbly and brown..
* Use any vegetable mix you enjoy...
I reconstitute it the night before then refrigerate it. The next evening I nuke it and stir in two Tablespoons salsa and add 2 Tablespoons shredded cheese like pepper jack (saved protein from earlier). That is the only way I can enjoy the mac n cheese. Planning ahead is the key...
Thanks for all of your great ideas..... I like most of the Dukan Diet foods. In this case, I think she's right and it was just way too old (from Big Lots) although I couldn't find an expiration date on the other ones I had..
The funny thing is when I made it, I treated it like all of the other Dukan Diet meals I make: I used boiling water, let it sit for about 5 min with a wedge of Laughing Cow in it, and poured it over broccoli. Should have been delish, as this is how I eat the Pasta Parm w/ Broccoli and the Fett Alfredo! It had this AWFUL taste...... so........ must have been bad!!!.

I only tried it once under the nourish program and did not like it at all. it was powdery and tasted awful. Are we saying it has gotten better?..
The first time I made it, I just did the boiling water thing. I let it sit for the proper amount of time and it looked terrible. So, I threw it in the microwave for a minute and it turned out great. After the microwave it was much more cheesy and creamy....give that a try...
The macaroni & cheese is horrible! I tried it once and that was it for me. I'll have to try some of these suggestions...
When I first startedfall of 2005, it was one that I really liked. I had to let it set a lot longer than the directions said. I sometimes added some Boca crumbles & some RoTel tomatoes. I definitely would recommend some add- ins...
I make it in the morning, and let it sit in the fridge all day. Then at dinner time I nuke it with a Laughing cow segment, stir it, and yum!..

I tried the mac 'n cheese tonight and it was terrible. Probably my least favorite although I did not really care for the mushroom ricotto either.....
I add chopped green chilis and a dash of dried red chili. Makes it New Mexican mac and cheese. I used to do this with my homemade mac and cheese..

I tried something new this time. I missed a protein today so instead of adding boiling hot water, I added boiling hot milk and some hot paprika and let it sit covered for 15 minutes. I had to nuke it to warm it up but it was so tasty...
I'm another one who likes mac & cheese. I sub beef or chicken broth for some of the liquid and after letting it sit for a few minutes, I nuke it again and let it sit for a few more minutes. It's almost impossible to overcook it. Beef broth in the mac & cheese with beef gives it a whole different flavor..
I also use a glass dish with lid to make it in instead of the cardboard container. It might be my imagination but I think it tastes better..

I had the mac & cheese with beef tonight. I boil the water & mix it & let it sit with something heavy on the lid, like a mug. The I add a wedge of LC light cheese and let it sit again for a few minutes. Then I reheat it in the microwave for 30 seconds and it comes out perfect!!..
I also like the mac and cheese dinners and can eat them as is. The first time I made it I had to microwave it for about a minute after letting it sit for about 5 minutes but it came out so creamy and cheesy. Can't wait to try some of the add ins suggested here! Thanks for the tips!..

I thought the Mac & Cheese was awful!! I ordered a few of those thinking they would be good, but I returned them all. Replaced with Kraft EZ Mac & Cheese!!! It is 50 less calories and tastes much better...
It may have 50 less calories, but it may also not meet NutriSystem standards for the amount of protein vs. carbohydrates, fat, etc..
Remember the Dukan Diet plan is not based on calories alone, but on the proper mix and timing of nutrition...

I've made a mock fried mac n cheese with my puff pan and it is delicious, I think I will have it for dinner tonight! You just add a little parm chease a maybe a tablespoon of bread crumbs and it's great!..
I did this tonight. I made the Mac and Cheese according to package directions. I then put it in a greased casserole dish and added 1/4 cup canned tuna and 2 TBS canned peas. Topped it with Japanese Panko Bread Crumbs and baked in a 350 oven for 10 minutes...

Well today, I encountered my first mac & cheese cup that the ''cheese'' was not powdery - it was in little hard bricks and big clumps! I slammed the container against the counter several times - took a bread knife and stabbed those clumps unmercifully - then added boiling water - stirred some more - mashed little ''cheese' clumps with a fork - stirred some more - covered with the water boiling pot - let sit for a while - stirred agin - added Tabasco Chipotle sauce - a few slivers of grilled chicken and could now have the "Yum Nummy" nameplate on my office door -.

I hated it at first too. You can't cook it with boiling water only, I find that you need to actually cook it on the stove. To fix it up I usually add, onions, tomotos, peppers, and salsa. It's MUCH better than just adding the boiling water, that never seemed to work for me...
The nourish mac and cheese was not as good to me, either. I have just sold mine for $1 each on eBay. I probably would have given them away had they not sold..
The Advanced mac and cheese isn't so bad to me...
I luv the mac and cheese! I use a little less boiling water than required, then microwave it for 30 seconds. It comes out great! just don't microwave it longer than that or it will be all over the microwave!..
I never liked the Dukan Diet mac and cheese so after I used up what came with my first shipments I never ordered it. My wife liked it alot, it was one of her favorites. It was better to let it stay in the hot water a couple of minutes longer than the package says before opening...
