Got a quick question: Has anyone ever done the chemical Dukan Diet? Hoping for any answer or 2. My 2nd question... Someone asked me to post this. I got this recipe a while back from the South Beach message boards..

Chocolate Black Bean Brownies.

1 can black beans (I sometimes use white beans instead), drained, rinsed well, drained again.

4 large eggs.

1 tsp. baking powder.

3 - 4 T. unsweetened cocoa powder (good quality).

Pinch salt.

1 tsp. vanilla.

2 or 3 T. oil.

3/4 c. Splenda.

Cup (divided) semisweet mini chocolate chips.

**optional to add watkins Caramel extract or SF chocolate syrup.

Put ingredients into the blender in this order:.

2 eggs, beans, remaining ingredients (except chips), then last 2 eggs..

Stir in 1/4 cup chips and pour into a sprayed 8x8 pan. Sprinkle the other 1/4 cup mini chips on top and bake at 350 or 375 25-30 min..

I cut these into squares and put them in the fridge, they are much better cold! They arent that good warm in my opinion but you may like them that way. Just cut a small square to test it out..

Also, dont be put off by the bean smell (I was the first time) as you mix them because they really dont taste that way when they come out..

Entire pan stats:.

Cals Fat Cholest Sodium Carbs Sugars Fiber Protein.

1,522 76g 860mg 260mg 159g 1g 25g 53g.

24 servings = 63 calories 3g fat 36mg cholesterol 11mg sodium 6.6g carbs 1g fiber 2.2g protein.

I usually cut the pan into 12 squares and I suppose you could add some any whey to up the protein count..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at Dukan Diet as they probably can help you..

Yes, as with anything else on Dukan Diet message boards, there are a bunch of different variations of it. There were quite a few variations and additions to this recipe, another one being adding the caramel and chocolate syrups..

I figure if someone wants to save on calories, they just don't add the chips. When all is said and done though, the addition of chips doesn't make a huge difference...

I think the chips would definitely be great for the texture, to help make them gooeyer ( is that spelled right???.

) and chocolatier without adding too many calories, since it IS only 1/2 c..

Of course, I don't think I could get 24 servings out of an 8X8 pan. 12 would be doable, and even then, only 126 cal! Thank you so much for posting this recipe! I have some Hershey's Special Dark powder begging me to use this recipe, even everything in my pantry...

Ok. So, I have made them and fed them to my family. The only change I made was 2 Tbsp of oil and 1 Tbsp of applesauce. My husband asked what was in them, and I said Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder...omitting the black beans part..

I wanted to get their honest opinions..

My husband said they were ok. He was surprised b/c they didn't have a brownie texture. He said they were more cake-like (knowing that both of us prefer fudgey brownies), and then went on to decribe them as being like chiffon cake. They do have a really light, spongey texture..

My son said they were delicious, and my daughter seemed to enjoy them, too. I liked them, as well...

Last night, after the kids had gone to sleep, I admitted to my husband that I added black beans to the brownies. He said, "NO, you didn't!" Hee hee! He knew there were something different about these brownies, since they weren't dense and fudgey like we usually have, but he NEVER would have guessed beans!.

I'm going to be going to Pagosa Springs tomorrow with my sister and a couple of cousins. I think I may save a few for them, too..

Once my husband accepted that they didn't have the texture he was expecting, he'd liked them well enough. He had a 2nd one with a scoop of ice-cream later...

This sounds delicious. It should work great in my house. My DH can't eat anything with wheat and I see this has no flour. It looks like somethng we both could enjoy. Thanks for sharing...

I made these monday and they were soooo good. I used the hersheys dark cocoa and instead of ch. chips I used 8 squares of the huge hersheys dark chocolate bar. it was less calories and complimented the dark cocoa well. I still cant believe how good these were..

I also cut them into 9 squares for 147 calories each (those are just my counts) I wanted huge pieces because I LOVE chocolate! lol..
