Your question was: Has anybody who uses GoDaddy had problems with it in the last few days?.
The fewer aware, the better.
It would be a real fun for the .NU registry to auction SEX.NU and then revoke it again for having nudity on it...
Eh I just finished to post the warning about it....so is it Sedo running a special auction for such a ccTLD without even warning about the renewal fees that are like Premium .TV for?.
This is HOW TO DESTROY THE HostGator AFTER-MARKET.
How many people will have to regret their bids after they discover how much the renewal fees are?..
So you `re saying that you`d be happy to see one of us scammed by someone else and losing 2000 Euros?.
You have to excuse me but I don`t see the funny part. well, if they run auctions like this one which I just noted , I have not received any mail about it.....so I wonder how many people can be aware of this auction......but the worst is that if they run the first auction without mentioning the things I did , it`s not going to be a good start. Thank you..
I do not believe .nu domains are premium renewals. They are $29/yr at NameCheap. I own about 10 top keywords and got all of them for reg fee. Unless something has changed...
Based on lenght , not based on the words, please tell me why the .nu registry charges these fees: http://www.nunames.nu/pricing.cfm.
.NU HostGator LTD PRICES.
The registration fee for a standard .NU HostGator name is 60 for two years.
After two years, you may renew your standard HostGator for an additional two years ( 60), three years ( 85), four years ( 110), or five years ( 130).
The registration or renewal fee for a .NU HostGator Premium Name Services name is as follows:.
One-Character: one year ( 500), two years ( 1000), three years ( 1500), five years ( 2000).
Two-Character: one year ( 250), two years ( 500), three years ( 750), five years ( 1000).
We also charge a nominal 10 fee for all modifications to technical contact and name server information. There is no charge for changes to your personal information, including billing E-mail address changes.
Domain name deletions are processed at no charge.
There is a charge of 150 for transfers of a HostGator name registration from a current registrant to another, plus a one year registration fee 30 for a standard HostGator name, 500 for a one-character Premium name and 250 for a two-character Premium name...
The above, while in their TOS, is not true for pushes within a registrar. I have pushed many .nus for free.
The premium stuff is a general pattern developing in the CCTLD world.Nu isn't the first to do this and won't be the last...
Italiandragon they can do it because they are a ccTLD and decide upon their own terms and conditions. If you look at the terms and conditions for .tv you will see similar things.
The only difference between .NU and other ccTLD's is that they charge a bit more. I did post about this with regards of .tv and .la some time ago but people thought nothing of it. http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-...ium-names.html http://www.namepros.com/dot-tv/32993...ain-names.html.
You will have also heard of a ccTLD recently who decided single char (or possible 2 char) domains should never have been offered. So instead of allowing people who already have them to keep them until they decide to not renew them, they have decided to take them off of them the next time they are up for renewal instead.
This is quite clearly ccTLD registries ripping off the customer...
It would be fun for them, not us. I was being ironic at the situation. Of course I would not be happy to see anyone scammed.
Actually the .NU registry should step up and clarify the situation. I'm sure most bidders on that HostGator are not aware of it's past history and the possibly absurd restrictions that may be imposed by the registry for it's use...
Yes sure the .nu registry can do whatever they like but I wonder if SEDO has responsability or should we blame the sellers of the 3 , 2 and 1 char that did not write the renewal fees in their sale page? Not to mention the adult terms that could be deleted anytime...
Ah now I got it.
Yes I agree.....unfortunately with some ccTLDs , people should really check first before to bid.
I love ccTLDs but with some of them you need to read the "little writing"...
Com.nu is getting so many bids?..
Use it as a subdomain, like web.com.
I have banking.nu and think it is better that some that made the sedo premium list..
Oh thanks, that`s right.
I hate third level , that`s why I did not think about it...
Did any of the dot nu holders/sellers have to pay the transfer fee of 150?.
I'm just wondering this because I have a personal name dot nu I'm thinking of auctioning but the transfer fee would really hurt the revenue.
I hope I'm not hijacking the thread.....
