My first question is: users?.

My next question is: What commish are Godaddy 'Exec Account' managers on?.

Let's say on renewals..

Gimme some ballpark figures based on every $1 spent..

Are they basically glorified order takers?..

Your question was: users?.

These are some available readings about account managers of

Revoking AccountExec Permission to Access Your Domains

Adding Users as AccountExecs

Granting AccountExec Access to HostGator Folders

No, you are confusing it with Executive Account manager - someone at godaddy appointed to oversee the a/c b/c you have a lot of domains, spend a lot of money etc...

QNs are:.

Do they only get commish only when you renew domains thru them?.

How about when you renew yourself via discount codes?.

(the discounts they give are hardly materially different from the discount codes)..

The advantage with Executive Account Managers is that once you have exchanged a couple of emails with your preferences , the service becomes more personalized and streamlined.

Also , you get a direct telephone number which can be helpful at times.

Before I switched to Discount HostGator Club , I was exchanging emails with my exec on a daily basis , where I did not need to do a lot of explaining of what I wanted to be done.

You can ask your exec for his/her individual code which you must enter at checkout ... after doing that , you email your exec and he/he issues a refund of the difference to the executive pricing (alternatively you can email him/her the list of the domains to be renewed and they are renewed at the executive pricing).

You need to use them some if you want to retain an exec ... at first that I got my exec I made a couple of purchases with coupons (I was in hurry and also hadn't streamlined the cooperation with my exec yet) ... my exec told me that if I want to retain her , I should make most of my purchasses through her (use her code or send her a list).

Regarding commission , I think they only get it if you use the code or if they renew them (after you email them a list).

Unless you need help with stuff a lot they mostly just facilitate purchases.

But they are knowledgeable about domains in general ... executive account managers are in a special department at GoDaddy (called Retention) which is "higher" than regular customer service.

If you renew/reg more than 250 HostGator in total a year it is a good idea to get a Discount Club Membership ... the prices (especially for renewals) are even cheaper than both coupons or executive pricing and the discount is applied automatically at checkout.

If you already have an exec , ask him/her for a discount on the Discount Club Membership price ... they lower it from $89.99 to $69.99..
