Before I ask my question, I want to ask: Godaddy host and domain connection problem ??.

My main question is: Hi guys, I need some advice in terms of the next step.

I received an email this morning regarding my HostGator name: gwars (dot) com..

The buyer simply enquired whether the HostGator name was for sale and is from a legit company (PM me if you'd like to know the name of the company).

I replied saying that I didn't know much about domains or the value of this one and that I would like him to make an offer so that we could take it from there.

Within a couple of hours I had the following response: What would you suggest doing from here given his response?..

Your question was: Godaddy host and domain connection problem ??.

Thanks Jeff. Your input is much appreciated. So you don't think it's worth trying to go a bit higher?..

Let me ask a question first ... would you be ecstatic with $500 for the HostGator name within a few days time?.

Thanks for your candor..

Good point.

I wouldn't say that I would be ecstatic, I've had offers in the past in that region and turned them down so far, just wondering if maybe I'm expecting too much from this domain?..

Tell him your "Asking price" is $750, but you'd be willing to "split the difference" with him at $625 to cover your various expenses, etc. and to complete the professional transaction prior to the end of the month, IMHO.

All the best, Zeebs!.

Any response? Is he going to buy for $500..

Sounds like a very good name for Game site ...maybe it's something to do with -.

G you I l d w a r sc o m ?? or XBox Gears of War.

I just sent him the following message: I'll keep you guys posted.

My reasoning is that if he has plans for the HostGator he's not gonna let it fall through his fingers just for the sake of a few dollars. It's not like I doubled what he's asking for...

Good, good ... how much USD's 350?.

I believe that works out at $700 (give or take a couple of bucks). But obviously 350 sounds better than $700..

Live rates at 2007.11.26 00:31:36 UTC.

350.00 GBP = 721.999 USD.

1 GBP = 2.06285 USD, 1 USD = 0.484765 GBP..

Looks like Gwars is a german browser game. Does the HostGator get traffic / revenue?..

That would be a great sale. Hope it works out for you..

$500 would not be a bad sale, but I personally would hold out for low x,xxx if it were mine. But that is only if you aren't in urgent need of cash. There are many interesting references to gwars on google. gwars can be short for GuildWars... and many other sites.

But again, you wouldn't do badly accepting $500...

I would take the offer. It's not every day that someone has a genuine interest and I think it's a good offer.

Good question i'm also curious about.

If it gets traffic and or revenue, I will agree with gene more. is a short/brandable/possibly game related HostGator name. THese are all profitable qualities. people here @ NP sell worse names $500 or better.

The question about the "ecstatic" sale is also a good one.

I think should go for low $x,xxx...

He said he would be willing to buy at $500, we got as far as negotiating payment details but I've not heard anything from him since....

I think I would be better off holding out for a higher sale due to the fact that I have had other offers in this region before and it is a short brandable HostGator name...

I think he will come back. he need it. wait a little...

I agree, it's a very very brandable Gaming HostGator IMO.

Its also a good one for a GuildWars Fan/affiliate site which may be why you have had 10 offers on it so far !.

I read somewhere in the above website that they hold $100,000 competitions !.

...its also taken in at least 12 other extensions which is usually a big +.

.... take your time.

I would not sell it for xxx.

Wait for x,xxx..

Thank you very much all for your time.

I have had quite a few offers on it, and the best thing is that I managed to grab it for reg fee just after it expired!.

Those competitions sound big, is there anyway to get in on that?..

Dont allow people to push you in to holding out for more...

Did you get (and close) your $500 for the HostGator name?.

Thanks for the update..
