I just found 8 bottles of FF raspberry vinaigrette dressing (Food Lion brand) under my bed where I store stuff I bought on sale, and all the dates are "use by 5-15-2010." It appears to be fine, and I took a tiny taste of one and it tastes fine..

Do you guys think I can use any of it? Gosh, I hate to throw it out! I wonder if I could freeze some of it right now in ice cube trays or something, also? What do you think?..

Your question was: Expired salad dressing ok to use during Nutrisystem?.

Kim, thanks for your answer. I can't see why it would be a problem, esp because of the vinegar content. I can't use all this in the next few weeks so I'm going to try and freeze it. The bottles are plastic so I believe it will be alright..

LeezJ, thanks. I will do that probably on Monday when they openprob no hours on weekends...

The company is going to tell you "no" to protect themselves legally. I use salad dressings, all kinds, long past their date, especially the ones with vinegar in them as it's a preservative of sorts...

I agree; you'd just be wasting your time. It's hardly even past the expir. date. I'd certainly use it. I think a lot of people don't even notice those dates and probably millions of people are walking around who have eaten expired salad dressing. Just use the taste and smell test on each bottle...

Ah, you guys, thanks for your help. All these bottles have been under my bed and not exposed to high heat or light, either. I just had a salad and used one bottle and it tasted fine.

I'm busy right now organizing all my canned/bottled goods so I'll know what I have and know the exp. dates...

But you are only supposed to use 2 tablespoons!..

Hey, I enjoy watching my cukes swimming around in a bowl! And they enjoy it...

Raspberry vinagrette hoarder.

Are the mushrooms that I have been unable to get at the grocery store also hiding in large numbers under your bed?..

Well, um, yes, there are a couple...three...four....cans under there. Any more, I'm not admitting to!! But none of them are expired...
