OK...I just cooked beef for the first time in my life. (I set a goal for the week to branch out with my L&G). It was ground beef and I cooked it well.

It tasted good but now it is like a brick in the stomach..

Yuck.

I think I will try to see if the fish market has a type of fish that I have not eaten recently...

You gotta ease into things, there! Work your way up the food chain gently, in small doses.

Beef can be like a rock in the stomach even for serious carnivores - we like it because it sticks with us longer. If it were me, I'd try a couple ounces of beef in an egg beater omelet, or in Medifast chili. Or go through fish, then chicken, and let those integrate for a while..

Good luck with your adventures!!!..

Thanks! Yup...I'm going to slow my food chain progression. My three favorite (and go to) meals are salmon, tilapia, and eggs.

Your advice of adding makes sense...

Have any club soda/seltzer to wash it down with, break it up a little?.

I stopped eating meat about 13 years ago. It just wasn't agreeing with my system.

Feel better..

Sorry to hear it's not agreeing with you. Freya has great advice here, little bits at a time.

Good to hear you are enjoying fish now.

Cheers!..

Oh no, say it isn't so. May I suggest a better cut of beef to try? Ground beef can be all over the place in taste and fat content. So, it may not be the best thing for a first go-around. We raise all-natural, grass fed, no antibiotics or Bovine Growth Hormone beef cattle. We sell exclusively to one company that sells under the Laura's Lean Beef brand name (green label). This company only sells all-natural beef and inspect their ranches twice a year to make sure we're all in compliance.

There is a BIG difference between this meat and the stuff next to it in the stores. You'll have to check to see who sells it in your area, but you can always find it at SuperTarget. Other 'whole foods' markets do sell it too. Try the tenderloin, grill it, and if you wish, split it over two meals if you feel too full. Hope this doesn't sound too much like a sales pitch, but there is a difference...

Thanks for this tip! I'll look into it.I embarrassed that I don't own a grill. But I could figure out another way to cook it...

If you are financially able to I suggest always trying something in a restaurant first to see if you like it! It gives you a yardstick to compare your cooking to as well...

Nothing wrong with broiled, roasting or pan fried! Grilling takes away some of the fat, but you'll still get good flavor...

We have found our George Forman grill to be our new best frien. We have a grill that we normally cook beef on but other stuuf is on th GF grill. They had them at wWalmart for around $20. It makes FISH wonderful. Even Zucchini and Squash are GREAT on the grill...

I only buy Laura's Lean Beef... huge quality difference compared to grocery store ground beef. And it's available at my regular grocery store, so I don't have to make a special trip to get meat that is antibiotic-free..

It's funny how people are different... a good steak makes everything run a little better through my system!..
