Got a question, hope someone can answer... Does Verisign SSL related to network security? Looking forward for any answer or 2. My other question... Hi I'm a frontend css xhtml coder working on reskinning an osCommerce site..

I'm running into some issues trying to remove some tables..

This is from the class/BOXES.php file.

Class infoBox_77 extends tableBox {.

Function infoBox_77($contents) {.

$info_box_contents = array();.

$info_box_contents[] = array('text' => $this->infoBoxContents($contents));.

$this->table_cellpadding = '0';.

$this->table_parameters = 'class=""';.

$this->tableBox($info_box_contents, true);.

Function infoBoxContents($contents) {.

$this->table_cellpadding = '0';.

$this->table_parameters = 'class=""';.

$info_box_contents = array();.

For ($i=0, $n=sizeof($contents); $i<$n; $i++) {.

$info_box_contents[] = array( array ( 'align' => (isset($contents[$i]['align']) ? $contents[$i]['align'] : ''),.

'form' => (isset($contents[$i]['form']) ? $contents[$i]['form'] : ''),.

'params' => ' class="sea_6"',.

'text' => '.

<div>'.(isset($contents[$i]['text']) ? $contents[$i]['text'] : '').'</div>.

Return $this->tableBox($info_box_contents);.

The result is a table wrapping around my div. Is there a way to edit this so no table is created?.

Yes sir! however you might want to make sure and wait for another commenter to confirm it as I am on the fence. Better yet, why don't you e-mail the Verisign guys because they can give you help better...

Comment #1

That would be me..

It removes all tables and no longer uses the box class. Just div, ul, li, etc..

The search box is not perfect but the rest is pretty good..

Just click on My Contributions...

I'm actaully using all of those files in my includes/boxes/Thanks BTW they were a big help!.

I was referring to the class/box.php file though. It has code like this that makes a table:.

Class contentBoxHeading_ProdNew extends tableBox {.

Function contentBoxHeading_ProdNew($contents) {.

$this->table_width = '100%';.

$this->table_cellpadding = '0';.

$info_box_contents = array();.

$info_box_contents[] = array(array('params' => ' class=""',.

'text' => '.

$this->tableBox($info_box_contents, true);.

Here is the html output:.

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">.

<td class="">.

<h1>Welcome, Please Sign In</h1>.

This there syntax to make that simple a div instead of a table?.

You have to rip it apart some more. In the classes file you will see;.

// class constructor.

Function tableBox($contents, $direct_output = false) {.

$tableBox_string = '<.

That is where the table starts, so you need to change it to.

// class constructor.

Function tableBox($contents, $direct_output = false) {.

$tableBox_string = '<div.

But that won't work as it also adds all the other stuff into the table such as border, cellspacing which will have to be moved to a class..

Then you have to work on the form as currently it is.

If you just change the table to div you will end up with.

Which won't work as the form will close all <div> tags before it closes the form and mess up your page..

You can try just changing where it says table change to div. Where it says tr change to ul. And where it says td change to li and see what happens..

PS I would use h4 tags instead...

Comment #4

Thanks I'll give that a shot..

Curios why would you use h4?.

I've been thinking and h1 wasn't the proly the best header to use. Do have a certain method you use for h tags?..

Comment #5

H1 should be for the page title, not an infobox heading. They are ranked in importance to the page so h1 is the most important and h2 is less important and h4 is really irrelevant (such as an infobox heading)..
