My first question is Does Nutrisystem work? Is it worth the money? Many thanks for any response. Another quick question... Welcome to the very first challenge of the year 2011!!! Hi all. Got home last night from the last of my Christmas parties. My friends celebrate 12th Night but that generally happens about 1 week weekend after the actual weekend for 12th night... I know, confusing, but it seems to work for us). I had a great time, was off plan but now I've no excuses anymore for being anything but 100%..

I'm hoping to see the last of the snow and ice from last week's storm to melt today. If not, the rain we are supposed to be getting tonight and tomorrow should wash the remaining patches away..

My favoriteNutrisystemfoods are:.

Breakfast: Chocolate Muffin, Harvest Nut Bar and the Granola cereal..

Lunch: Ham and Bean soup, Cheesey Mashed Potatos, Black Bean and Tortilla Soup. (that last gives me the NutriToots but it's not so bad with some Beano first and I love Mexican).

Dinner: Lasgna with Meatsauce, Homestyle Beef & Potatos, and Penne Pasta and Chicken..

Dessert/Snack: Thin Mint Crisp Bar, Chocolate Chip Pudding, Brownie.

Ooops, I thought we were limited to one favorite. For lunch, I love the Trail Mix bar. It is convenient for work and for travel. I keep one or two in my bag at all times just in case I get caught out later than planned. For breakfast, I like any muffin or scone. I buy my own cereal in form of Kashi Go Lean or Quaker Weight Control oatmeal.

For dinner, I have to include the Italian flatbread pizza and Pasta Fagioli..

I'm trying to decide if I want to give up the comfort of the house for a three hour round trip to the city to get some groceries and take items to Good Will. I really hate for another storm to come and I get trapped without any good add ins, etc. The local supermarket doesn't have a good selection and is very limited in items that are sugar free, fat free, etc. The veggies and fruit are so much more expensive than in the city as are the other items. Most of us who go to the city usually load up for a couple weeks supply of food items..

TZ, we have had snow on the ground since the beginning of December. It has never been warm enough to melt. Usually we have a small snowfall and it is gone within a couple of days. This is getting very old...

Tz, gladyou enjoyed that 12th night celebration. I love getting to celebrate the holidays after the holiday madness with good friends. I'm actually supposed to get together with some childhood friends to celebrate the first weekend in Feb. I hope that snow / ice melts soon. I think we're going to have snow on the ground here until May at this rate..

Jean, I hope you enjoy the day, whatever you decide to do. It's freezing here today. I've got the day off and should be running errands, but I think I'm gonna just save those for nights after work this week instead. We'll see by this afternoon...

My favorites, hmmm:.

Breakfast - pancakes (I seldom eat ns breakfast - usually hearty grain cream of wheat or quaker weight control oatmeal).

Lunch - beans/ham soup, vegetable beef soup, tuna salad.

Dinner - chicken with dumplins (I have a stash of nourish which is much better IMHO), hearty beef stew, lasagna, chili mixed with mac n cheese for 2 meals, burger.

Dessert - BBQ soy chips, nutrichocolates, chocolate pudding, milk chocolately delight bar.

It's funny. Read so many posts on these boards about people who have problems with the lunches or the dinners. For me, it's the breakfasts...

Great question for this week, and so interesting to read the answers. I have a few favorites in each category, so here goes:.

B: Cinnamon Bun Bar, Cinnamon Swirl Granola Bar, Apple Strudel Bar, Double Chocolate Muffin.

L: Tuna Salad, Hearty Minestrone Soup, Cheesy Potatoes.

D: Italian Herb Flatbread Pizza, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Penne Pasta with Chicken in Alfredo Sauce, Mac & Cheese with Beef.

S: Peppermint Cookie Patty, Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Mint Crisp Bar (and nearly all of the rest of the chocolate bars!)..

Maryanne, if it weren't for the muffins and scones, I wouldn't be eating anNutrisystembreakfast. I don't normally eat these but I have to order 35 breakfasts and I do enjoy these. In fact, if I could, I would like a double order of them instead of the dessert selection..

I confess as many time as I've done ns I've never been on AD so I've never had that problem. Would drive me crazy to have only a month's food here and know that is it. However it would probably be good discipline. LOL!.

I'll check out your video when I'm at my home computer. (Yes, I know this work computer is in my home but it doesn't do videos so well for some reason.).

My one and only trip to Hawaii was during the 80's when the American Bar Association tax section had it's annual meeting in Waikiki. I went about 3 days early to do some sight seeing...

The Hilton Hawaiian Village has fireworks every Friday night. There is a 24 hour coffee house across the several lanes which has fabulous food at reasonable prices; it is a local favorite..

You don't really need a car there except for a day you might want to drive around the island if you don't do a tour. Enoa tours are fabulous; small mini-buses. The Waikiki Trolley system or The Bus can take you nearly everywhere. Sometimes, you can get a "Buy One Get One free" four day trolley pass with a coupon in one of those visitor guides. One of the trolley's is dedicated to shopping; another is historical sites, and one is the scenic. Each line runs frequently..

For nightly entertainment, the Magic of Polynesia and the Society of Seven are fantastic shows. The first has a really dramatic and sensitive ending. I'm not into magic shows but this is fabulous. I always make a point of seeing the SOS show. If I'm feeling down when I leave it, I'm feeling great!..

Hello! I would love to join this group/challenge. I startedNutrisystemon 1/5 and so far, so good. I was onNutrisystem20 or so years ago, and so much as changed..

Anyway, my goal from now until March is to get comfortably back in a size 10 (but secretly would love to be an 8) - I'm wearing 14's and some 12's, but they are still tight..

My favorite breakfast so far is the ham and cheese omelet..

Lunch - the tortellini.

Dinner - the turkey meddalions were terrific, but so far there hasn't been one dinner I haven't liked..

Anyway - I'm 42, a single mom of 3 sons, 15, 11 and 8. I work as a special education advocate (my youngest has classic autism and my middle son has aspergers)..

As for my meal choices:.

B: Double Chocolate Muffin which I heat for 10-11 seconds in microwave, or the Harvest Nut Bar if I am in a hurry..

L: Hearty Minestrone Soup, Trail Mix Bar, or Chicken Caesar Salad. I also like the chicken or tuna salad on a Sandwich Thin..

D: Any of the lasagnas..

S: Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Mint Crisp Bar, most of other chocolate bars, and cheese puffs. I like the fake m&ms too, but find the cookies more filling...

OK, what's going on!!!! I went to look at the food and easily found two omelets - but when I went to my auto order, neither choice shows up..

No Turkey medalions either! I thought I would order them a la carte - but that choice has disappeared!!! What has happened!!!?..

Those are frozen meals, part of the Select program, which can't be customized or ordered a la carte except as part of the 10-day package..

Welcome! Sounds like your first ns experience was even farther back than mine! I started with QVC around the time the food with blue labels was close to being phased out and they were planning to introduce Nourish (although we didn't know it at the time)...

Well, last night I made DH meat loaf and baked potato and I had ns meat loaf. And I think it was a little too old to boot. To top it all off, DH made a comment about why wasn't I eating the meat loaf I made? Geesh. Not one of my finer dining moments! LOL!..

The turkey and omelets are part of the frozen option. I get 10 days of frozen, 18 of the shelf stuff. I have to say the frozen is really good. I had the frozen homestyle pancakes this morning and YUMMY!..

I like the Fudge Graham Bars for lunch. For breakfast, I find that I like the cereals and the muffins, but... I order mostly the cereals because when I have cravings later in the day, the muffins are too tempting. Dinner is hard for me, as I am on the Vegetarian program, and there are not many to choose from, and they are all somewhat the same. I don't care for much except the pizza, chili, and some of the pasta/vegetable dishes. For dessert, although I love the sweet choices, I usually order the snacks like nacho chips and cheese puffs, for the same reason as the breakfasts... the sweet choices are too tempting when I am having sugar cravings...

I would be very satisfied not to haveNutrisystemdesserts. There is something about them that triggers a desire to eat more. I can substitute a protein and fruit and be perfectly satisfied but the minute I eat one of thoseNutrisystemdesserts, I'm ready to devour everything in sight. The funny thing is that the muffins don't do that but the desserts do...

Some of those items sounds good, but I keep waiting for a la carte, as there are some items I just don't think I'd eat. And I'm on the Costco plan now, so I'd have to switch back toNutrisystemto try those. But I'm glad to hear they're yummy - it does make it more tempting to switch!.

Interesting. I'm lucky that none of theNutrisystemfood has had that effect on me. Now my flex dinner on Thanksgiving made me a bit nuts. I originally thought it was the stuffing that did me in, but I now think it was the cranberry sauce - tons of white sugar in that. So next Thanksgiving I'm going to make some with Truvia or Splenda and hopefully avoid a repeat...

Hope you're all having a good day. We had some snow overnight that turned to sleet / freezing rain in the morning, and finally to rain around mid day. Luckily the snow was under all that ice so once you cracked the shell of ice, you could actually get down to pavement and/or car windows. Now let's hope the next storm they're starting to talk about for Friday misses us..

Hello everyone! I'm going to join in on this challenge! I am wanting to lose weight before my birthday (March 16th) So, this is perfect for me!! I am a restarter. Also, trying to get back into the exercise routine. I broke my foot a little over a month ago, and just got my cast off last Friday, and now have the boot. So, I'm easing into shedding these unwanted pounds!! Love and need motivation from others having the same struggles as me.

Now as far as my favorites:.

Breakfast: breakfast burrito or granola.

Lunch: Cheesy potatoes or chicken and cheese pasta.

Dinner: Pizzas.

Dessert: carrot cake or fudge bar..

All this discussion about the newNutrisystemoption on the frozen food/shelf stable food and frequently changing prices makes me glad I'm on the Costco plan. It is a fabulous deal. If I want frozen, I can order what I want from Schwann's..or go to the local supermarket and buy some things that closely meetNutrisystemstats. I read labels...

I feel for your pain - I've had a broken foot and a broken heel (the latter left me with permanent physical issues). Makes everything so much harder! My birthday is March 21 so we'll both finish up this challenge with a flourish!..

Hello Everyone.

Weighed myself this morning and I am 3lbs down since Monday.

I hope I can keep it up this time! I need to get in my skinny summer clothes! I drank TONS of water woke up a million times last night to use the restroom!.

THINKING.LIGHT: I am hoping to lose at least 15lbs. Which I know is a little excessive. Especially with exercising being a little difficult with my foot. But...think I can try.

By the way...That stinks that you can't receive the frozen food!.

Mdubbs: That stinks that you have permanent problems with your foot! I'm hoping that I won't (but I'm sure I will) I broke a part on the top of my foot and sprained my ankle. My ankle is the one more sore right now. Hoping it gets better real soon!..

Welcome, April! I can really relate to your issues with your foot I had a stress fracture of the lower leg summer of 2009 and was in the boot for 8 weeks, then in February 2010 I broke my ankle back in the boot for 6 weeks that time, then last summer I broke a bone in the top part of my foot. That time I was only in the boot for 2 weeks. It seemed like every time I got one injury healed and started back to an exercise program I'd break something else! I definitely got my money's worth out of that darn boot it actually need to be resoled if I ever need it again. My doctor sent me for physical therapy with the first 2 injuries and it helped a lot perhaps yours will order that for you, too..

Today was my OWI and I have no loss to report I actually am happy just to have gotten back to where I was last week. I went to 2 parties over the weekend and it's taken me 3 days to shed the evidence!..

Thanks for the welcome Pam, and wow! I don't feel so bad now. You have been through a lot more!! This is my first broken bone, and I'm usually really it is really frustrating. Especially when I gained weight through the holidays, and not being able to exercise..

A broken ankle - wow! There were several broken ankle recoverees (made up that word) at p/t when I went and that looked like one PAINFUL injury..

With all those broken bones - have they checked your bone density? I remember reading an article about how many doctors just treat broken bones and never think to look deeper..

I had the chicken pasta parmesan for dinner. Part of an assortment from ebay. I'd forgotten how much I like that! I'd also forgotten that Green Giant puts the almonds in a separate packet in their green beans with almonds. That's one veggie DH will eat and I can give him all the almonds! I'm sure there will be many missteps along the way but I'll gradually figure out how to do this in spite of our new meal arrangement around here!..

When I go to look at my auto delivery, there is a listing of all the foods by category such as breakfast, etc. and the opportunity to edit it. Down at the botton of the page, is the a la carte. If you click on that, you can add more foods or you can order exercise stuff, etc..

Also, if Schwanns doesn't do frozen food delivery in your area then that might be a reason you can't get the frrozen foods...

Good evening!! I am finishing up with my last day of my 2nd week. I have still been exercising every day, loving all the food so far, but unfortunately I don't expect to have an additional loss tomorrow morning (but who knows ...) as I drank over the weekend and realized just how much that can effect you, so now I know better and I'm abstaining ... at least until I'm down much more..

Actually, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis almost 12 years ago and had been on Fosamax continuously until last February when I broke my ankle. I then took myself off of it after doing some research and finding that the thinking now is that people should take breaks from the drug every 4-5 years or so. I usually have bone density scans every other year, but my doctor ordered another one this year to try to see what is going on with my bones. I actually had that done this morning, along with my annual mammogram. I've also had my Vitamin D level checked and it was fine. It's really weird to go 55 years without breaking any bones, then to break 3 in a 12 month period. I'm really not a klutz!..

, there was a family history of osteoporosis. I had the test done when I was around 55 and bingo! I've been on meds for it since then. I'm also on a med which has the capacity of leeching calcium, so it is almost a losing battle. I've lost about 2 inches in height..

There wasn't much on TV tonight so I've been watching a House marathon. I can always watch House. In another life, I was a doctor...

Jean due to a hysterectomy at age 32, I went in to early menopause at age 40. No family history of osteoporosis, but I had other risk factors so I asked for a bone density scan at age 45. At first my doctor kind of poo-poohed my request but finally agreed to order it. The result came back showing that I was at the 2nd percentile for bone density for my age group in other words, 98% of people my age had better bone density than me. Needless to say, my doctor was glad I had insisted on having the test! I take the best quality calcium supplements I can get at the health food store and my bone density has shown significant improvement. I'm now diagnosed as having osteopenia, instead of osteoporosis. That's why I don't understand why I keep breaking bones...

What a PITA to do everything you're supposed to and then break 3 bones in a year! Sometimes it's hard to know what to do. I'm still in the ostepenia stage but have lost an inch. The doctors claim it's because as you get older the pads in your spine compress..

I read recently that too many calcium supplements are bad for the heart of "older" people. When I see my cardiologist I've got to ask about that as I faithfully take my calcium every day as my gynecologist recommended..

The only good thing is how simple the bone density test is. Wish all tests were that simple!..

My one grandmother ended her life tiny and hunched over so I'm very sensitive to it. All my doctors say I don't meet their criteria for osteoporosis meds and that they're becoming more and more reluctant to prescribe those meds. My first thought was "oh, joy, another med not living up to it's hype"..

I could never be a doctor - too squeamish! In another life, I made my living as a singer. LOL!..

Well, I'm, waiting for the snow to move in. It is expected to drop one to two inces of snow an hour when it does hit but it is supposed to be a fast moving front so the total may not be more than six inces. We were warned not to be out when it hits as it will be a white out when it hits..

I decided I wanted to eat unhealthy tonight, so I had a luncheon size of spaghetti with yummy garlic bread, and salad. I'm not much of a bread eater but I do love garlic bread. There were only two small slices, but I could have made a meal out of the bread alone. I know....bad, bad!..

Jean, your dinner sounds wonderful! Like you, most of the time bread doesn't tempt me (at least not nearly as much as chocolate), but garlic bread is truly hard to resist! The other food that really calls out to me is fresh-baked cinnamon rolls and that thingNutrisystemcalls a cinnamon roll is a pathetic substitute, in my opinion. Lately, it seems like every magazine I pick up has a recipe for home-made cinnamon rolls they're taunting me!!!..

Karen, you're doing great! If you're still hungry after you eat your dessert, remember that there are some "free" foods you can have. Look at the book that came with your food I think the list is near the end of the foods section and consists of foods that are under 20 calories per serving. I think you can have 3 per day, but no more than 2 at once...

I'm hungrier than usual tonight too! I made a Big Mac snack wrap out of the hamburger patty, and flat out bread. Man! that was amazing!.

Now it's whats for dessert decision??? Think maybe chocolate walnut cookies, and hot tea. Hope everyone is doing great!.

Jean, I love that flatbreat pizza too! I just add a bit of italian seasoning to the sauce before I add the cheese, and it's one of my favorites. Although I've been hearing about the fit and free pizzas, and seriously considering trying those. Anyone ever try them?.

I agree - I keep seeing all of the threads about people confused by the pricing / plans, and keep thinking how glad I am to be on the Costco plan - I know it's a great price. And since there are a few items in the select plan I don't think I'd want to eat, I don't think I'd have switched to include the frozen food if I was on the regular plan..

3 pounds so far is great - good job!.

Pam, staying the same with 2 parties in one weekend is an accomplishment. Sounds like you got right back on track, which is really the key to being successful. Good job!.

Maryanne, I didn't know that about those green beans - definitely good to know!.

April, I'm a daily weigher too. I believe that as long as you don't get upset on the days where the scale suddenly shows a gain that you know is likely water (since you didn't cheat), there's nothing wrong with it. In fact, I think it's going to be a good habit to have once I reach my target weight - if you're on the scale every day and it's trending up, you'll know you need to get back on track sooner than if you only weigh in once a week. At least that's my current thinking....

Karen, Great job on exercising every day. Good luck with your weigh in, we can't wait to hear the results!.

It's supposed to be bad through our morning commute but then clear out by lunch time. Another 3 - 6 inches expected. And they're talking about more for Tuesday / Wednesday. This is just crazy.

Your dinner sounds yummy. Before NS, I could make a meal out of good bread. (I didn't, but I'd have loved to). I think occasionally having a meal like that if you really want it is fine, as long as you watch the portion size (which it sounds like you did) and can get right back on track..

Pam, I know it's not quite the same thing, but I had something earlier today that you might like. I doubt this is an original idea, but here's the deal. I had granny smith apples that were just a bit too tart. I also have cinnamon in a grinder in the house (sort of like those pre-filled pepper grinders you can buy). So I sliced the apple, put on a ton of fresh ground cinnamon, a little bit of Truvia (about 1/2 a packet for the entire apple) and a squirt or two of ICBINB and microwaved it for about a minute. So yummy and cinnamony!.

Karen, 5.5 pounds in 2 weeks is fantastic. Congratulations! If you're still hungry, you can always have more unlimited veggies. (have a huge salad of unlimited veggies in other words)..

April, that wrap sounds good - I saw a thread about that recently. I had the burger tonight, too, and used the idea of adding minced onions. That was really good - I'd used onion powder a few times, but the rehydrated minced onions definitely stepped things up a bit...

Ann - you mean what it's like? You lie down on a table, fully clothed, and a machine moves over your body - far enough up that even a major clautrophobic person like me doesn't mind. Then 5 minutes later you get up and go home. I hate needles (lab work). I hate being enclosed (even a CT scan). But the bone density test is easy. Maryanne..

, with the Italian flatbread pizza, I often add a little salsa to the pizza, as well as some mushroom slices or turkey pepperoni slices. I also love the veggie lasagna. I also like the meat lasagna but I prefer the veggie lasagna..

We have negative wind chills right now, along with the snow. I do so much better in any season other than Winter. Actually, I could survive the cold as long as there is sun. We are running low on the stuff to treat the roads as the Winter has been worse than usual...

Although today isn't my official weigh-in day, I'm happy to report that I have lost exactly 20 pounds since I started onNutrisystemback in July!!!! It's taken way longer than I expected, but I'm so happy to finally get there. I want to lose at least 10 more pounds, then I'll re-evaluate whether to keep going..

Jen, I agree with you about weighing daily. For me it works because it helps to keep me on track and to catch myself when my weight starts trending in the wrong direction. I take that as an opportunity to analyze whether I'm doing everything I should be doing with water intake, diet, and exercise, then make the appropriate adjustments. And thanks for the recipe idea I don't have any apples right now, but I make get a few the next time I'm at the store...

Maryanne, maybe I shouldn't admit this either, but I've never liked Big Macs. I was a quarter pounder girl at McD's. I just wasn't a fan of the sauce, and getting a Big Mac without the sauce seemed wrong somehow..

Jean, I have to try the salsa idea some time. And if I could ever find turkey pepperoni, I'd be very happy..

I hope you're able to stay in and avoid those wind chills. I'm all cleaned up from last night's snow. We had somewhere around 4 or 5 inches I think. Sad when that starts to seem like a really small amount to clean up. It's supposed to be a low of 7 here tonight (actual thermometer, not wind chill) and not get out of the 20s until Tuesday, when it's supposed to snow again. Ugh..

Good point about analyzing what you're doing daily - I think I'm doing that so automatically that I didn't think to write it down. But it is definitely a benefit..

Let me know if you try the apples. I was looking forward to having one again today with my lunch, but my meeting schedule was really tight and I had to change what I was having to be able to eat lunch faster than I'd wanted. Definitely having one tomorrow though!..

Jen, I get my turkey pepperoni slices (Hormel brand) at Walmart..

To me, a Big Mac is nothing but a burger with a bunch of 1000 Island all over it. If I were to buy a burger from Mickey D's, it would be a quarter pounder. I far prefer Wendy's burgers but it has been a long time since I have had one....November..

This snow stuff is very, very old. I should have gone out to do something with it today but I chose to stay in...

I'm going to redo my exercise ticker as a weekly thing. That huge number was psyching me out!.

I found another dinner combo for hubby and me. Baked him a Stouffer's chicken pot pie (which I can take or leave) and made meNutrisystemchicken and dumplins. This is a real adjustment (every time I was on ns before was during the 30 years he ate dinner at the hospital!) but we'll get there..

He was griping today about not getting enough calories. I informed him his pot pie was over 1000 all by itself and he also had bread, veggies and fruit! He should be fat. SO not fair! LOL! (he thought I was making up the calories for the pot pie)..

I've often noticed that when I'm the hungriest, I see a nice drop in the following day or 2. I use that thought to keep me motivated to stay on plan during those times. Remember, you can have as much of the unlimited veggies as you need to feel satisfied. So, if you are still hungry, add more to your salad..

When I'm working the plan I'm a daily weigher too. It really helps me to stay honest with myself and I understand the daily ups and downs the scale can show so they don't freak me out. But everyone must do what is best for themselves. Some can't handle the daily weight variations which is whyNutrisystemrecommends that you weigh weekly. I'll stick to my daily weigh-ins though. But I only officially count the weekly weigh in..

That apple recipe sounds yummy. I do something similar with bananas. I cut the banana (still in the skin) lengthwise. Then cut through the banana to the skin (but not through it) about every half inch. Then dribble a little vanilla or rum extract, sprinkle with cinnamon and with Splenda brown sugar. (Be careful how much you use as this is half splenda and half real brown sugar...

Then I broil this in the toaster oven for about 5 minutes (until the banana gets soft). It's delicious too...

It's been an interesting week around here. At least the roads were clear and people were making it to therapy and school this week. I felt so sorry for my intern that started last week... right in time for our major snow/ice event. At least she got to see clients this past week. It looks like we are getting some more of something Monday night...

They don't know yet just exactly which it will be. Lucky us!.

I managed to get this thread started Monday morning, but then sometime Tuesday or Wednesday the internet just stopped working. (I didn't have time to get online on Tuesday so it could have been either day.

) By Thursday I'd managed to figure out that it was the modem and not the internet service, on Friday I went to the cable company to exchange the modem and I finally actually got it working today. Let's hope it keeps working now..

While I was in Columbia last weekend my friend's husband recommended a "really easy" to set up WiFi machine. I think I'll try to pick on of those up either later this afternoon or tomorrow after church. I'm ready to not have to stay connected to the cable all the time. I enjoy using the WiFi at my parents but haven't been able to get mine to work here..

Technology is such fun.

TZ, I'm on wireless thorugh my telephone company, making the change last April. I've had the Internet to go out twice. I just unplugged the modem and then replugged it after a minute to reboot it. The internet was then up and running. I love my wirelss. I can go outside for quite a distance and still get a signal.

The telephone company provided the modem..

We are also getting the alert that there might be a significant storm mid-week depending on how two systems converge and then travel..

My official weigh in will be tomorrow morning; hopefully the preliminary peek proves to be true. I'm sorry but I'm one of those who likes to weigh more than once a week...

Jean, Thanks for the tip on the pepperoni - sure enough, I found it this morning in Target. Can't wait until pizza night so I can save a protein and try some out! Or figure out how many are a free food just to give them a shot....

I was always a fan of Burger King burgers and McD's fries. But haven't had either in over a year. And I don't even think I'd enjoy them now - the thought of what anything fried would do to my stomach stops me from even thinking about giving them a try..

I didn't want to deal with the snow yesterday, but since we were down to single digits last night and won't see anything out of the 20's until at least Tuesday, I had to or it would have been a solid piece of ice..

Maryanne, I think making the change to your exercise ticker to make it more manageable is a great idea. Great sounding dinner combo. Love your hubby's reaction when he heard the calories in his dinner..

I had a pretty busy day today. Went to Target to get more breakfast / lunch subs. They seem to have the best prices on the Zone Perfect and Specail K protein bars of the places that I have around here. Found Turkey pepperoni while I was there (thanks Jean!)..

Went to Costco to stock up on veggies, fruit, etc. Found a raincoat there that I liked. The XL is a tiny bit snug right now, but by the time it's warm enough to wear a raincoat here, it will definitely fit..

Got my hair cut and colored. Pretty relaxing, but time consuming..

Then ran to Kohls to return a sweater that got too big before I wore it. Decided that my black pants are too big, so tried on some there. Didn't like any, but was happy to be able to get into a Misses 16 instead of a women's size. I'm going to try a few other stores tomorrow to find something I like enough to buy..

Now I'm working on my motivation to go exercise. I really could take today as a rest day, but I'm doing EA Sports Active 2 on the Wii, and it's a workout day on there. I'll probably go do that in a few minutes. I really want to stick with that program..

I went to a friend's once a year dinner last evening to a crab house. Actually last year there were no crabs and the year before I had missed because of Gordy. So it was great to finally have some crabs. I had a cup of Maryland crab soup (even though she kept saying "the cream of crab is better") and 4 crabs. I have no idea how many calories are in that but since locals often eat a dozen or more by themselves I figured I was doing moderation. And instead of beer I had unsweetened ice tea.

So overall I think I did okay!.

We asked them where the crabs came from and they said Louisiana!.

Our forecast is showing some snow Wednesday also...

I'm one that couldn't handle the daily weigh in. If I'm trying to target 1-2 pounds per week that would make way too many days at the same number, especially since my scale only weighs to the nearest 1/2 pound. For me weekly weigh ins encourage me to think of this as long term...

We have a wireless network in our house. DH is the techie. Believe it or not the 2 of us are running 5 computers. His/her personal ones. My work laptop. And Bob's lap top which he doesn't really use for much but keeps in working order and with updated software.

That one isn't even hooked to the internet any more. It just sits there to run DOS..

No erason to be sorry about weighing more often. I am one of those that is convinced everyone has to gradually figure out what works for them. I'm trying for moderation this year in everything. No more black and white. No more scolding myself for a slip as long as it was part of an honest effort to figure out how to make this work for me long term...

Bob would never eat NS. He's far too picky an eater and it's getting worse as he gets older. He's suddenly getting this texture hangups. E.g. I get this wonderful green beans that are fresh and you steam them in the bag. He's decided they are "stringy".

But I'm working on putting together combos that will work for him and for me..

I can't just say forget him because the deal we made a year ago was he'd get me all set up to work at home (he's the computer guy and he bought the printer and stuff I use), and I admit my working space is an eyesore on the living room, if I made dinners. And I have no eral desire to go back to the commute...
