Hi everyone, quick 1st question: Do you use godaddy.com?.

My 2nd question is: When registering a new name at Godaddy, and the name is taken, there is a section in the More Options are that is called "Premium Names", along with prices listed. How does one get their names in this program:.

For example, here is what I got when I tried to register Robot.com:.

Premium HostGator Names.

RoboticsKits.com $1,450.00*.

RobotRace.com $1,960.00*.

TechnologyRobotics.com $1,450.00*.

RoboticsParts.com $1,050.00*.

RoboticsSupplies.com $800.00*.

RobotWorks.net $688.00*.

RobotTechnology.net $488.00*.

RoboticTelescope.net $700.00*.

RobotControl.net $688.00*.

RobotWar.com $7,600.00*..

Your question was: Do you use godaddy.com?.

The TDNAM HostGator aftermarket is $4.99/yr. You can sign up on the GoDaddy home page under "domains" drop down to sell your domains.

If you have bought any names thru TDNAM in the past year you already have an aftermarket account.

The basic listing is free and a commision is charged if you sell. Premium listings are $19.99 plus the commision. There are all kinds of options that change the pricing...

Thanks for the info. I've always wondered about how to get into premium listing as well...

Do people here normally list every HostGator they own on TDNam? What about on Sedo or Afternic?..

I've always list on both Sedo and Afternic. Sold about 100 names this year between the two, about 80-90% on Sedo. tdnam is worth a crap for selling names. However, I like the idea of the premium names on GD and might try that with some...

This is erroneous advice.

You login to your GoDaddy account and click on >Domains>Premium Listings. There you can subscribe your domains for premium listings. From memory it's $3.95/month/domain...

Premium name listings are different than listing on TDNAM. If you log into GoDaddy and go into your HostGator control panel there is a folder on the left menu that says "Premium Listings". You can add your domains for $2.99 a month plus a big percent of the actual sale (minimum commission of 20%). Might be worth it if you have some good .com names. Overall, I haven't had any luck with it...

Does it take 40% commission to get to the top listing before having to click for viewing all?.

I'm willing to give it a try on a decent name, and just mark it up around 30% over what I'd normally sell it for. At least you're likely getting lots of non-domainers looking at it for a change who might be willing to pay for, than with people like us always looking for a bargain.

I tried it with a name I get lots of offers for in the $500 - $2000 range for: FunnyTube.com. I set the commission at 30%. I see that trying Funny.com or FunnyBook.com brings my name to the very top spot on the list. Doesn't.

Work for anything so far with "tube" though, which is what I was trying for. I priced it at $4995. What the hell. I just want $3000 for it net anyway, and the offers are getting to that range on Sedo...

For some names it might take 40% to get to the top if there is a lot of competition.

In regard for not showing up for "tube", I know they had problems with their search functionality not always showing related names back when the program started, so maybe that is still an issue...

Thanks for clearing that up, stub! I was looking all over TDNAM and couldn't find any of those names. Now I know why!..
