Anyone have any issues with the PowerShot SD900 not having image stabilization? I am seriously thinking of buying one, but just not sure of the IS being left out. Does anyone get real blurry pics? Is it needed at all? I wonder why Canon left it out? Is there any advantage of not using IS?..
I, too, have the same concerns about the lack of IS on the SD900. I am considering either the SD800 IS (which is harder to find in stock) or the SD900. The IS feature and 3.8 zoom on the SD800 make it seem like the better choice, however, with 10 mp and the titanium body (I've read that the SD800 is prone to scratches), the SD900 sounds great, too. Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated!..
I use a Canon Powershot SD900 almost everyday in my diving work. Underwater guiding for Japanese tourists is demanding and I need a camera that easily slips into my BC jacket's pocket. Most cameras with the housing will not fit but the SD900 nicely slips in. I do not use an external flash or external lighting. Of course not all of my photos turn out good but if you'd like to see some of last weeks shots go to: http://www.fundiveguam.com/newestphotos0115/Site/Library%207.html.
I'm not a professional photographer but I just try to stay close to my subjects, hold the camera steady and shoot selecting the best combination of internal flash settings and distance/close-up...
I just bought it at office depot if you call 1800godepot they match all prices on the internet free shipping I found the sd 900 for 235.00.
You can't beat the price and you can also use coupons to lower the price. any questions email me Hal..
How are you liking the camera? I'm thinking of getting it but the more I look at cameras, the more confuse I get. I want something simple where all I have to do is aim and click .... What is your honest opinion so far about the SD900. Thanks..... Mari..
How did you find out about Office Depot price matching? I want to get one for my son for graduation but would love to pay less for items.
Thanks..
I called office depot and it didn't work for me. They told me that digitalsuperdeals was not a Canon authorized dealer therefore they would not match the price....darn it .. I guess you had better luck...
I recently purchased the canon sd900 elph digital camera and have a dumb question. Where do you find the icon or how do you set the mega pixels?..
I am torn between the sd900 and sd750 because many people were telling me that they don't differ much since I am just a regular point and shoot kind of person... any one want to enlighten me? i'm leaning more towards the sd900... I need the camera for macro shots too...
Thanks so much for the info on where to save some money on.
An excellent camera. It was $400.00 at Best Buy! WOW,.
I have been on the internet, but your site is the best.
Thanks YOU!..

Hello, I have a Canon Powershot 900 Digital Elph and I accidentally erased all my images from the memory card. Does anyone know if they are gone for good or can I recover them from the card with some kind of disk recovery software. (I am working on a Mac) Any help would be greatly appreciated. La Bone..
Toni: See: http://www.imaging-resource.com/SOFT/PHR/PHR.HTM as one possibility (Mac compatible). Hope this helps. Forum Admin..
I have the SD900 and need a wide angle lens. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!..
I would personally not advise anyone to buy Cannon cameras as I myself had very bad experience with Cannon SD 900 whose LCD screen went off only after a month of buying it. I spent a lot of money to post it across the dealer, repair shop and no one could repair it nor gave me any appropriate reason for not repairing or replacing it. Even though it was in guarantee period, these guys didn't not even bother to respond to make a replacement. Cannon customer service is not recommended so buyer be aware of the after services. This was my first digicam and it was very new in the market and bit expensive. Who cares about the feature if the product does not work...
I am the owner of Power Shot SD900; it is the third visit to my photo store (Lozeau in Montral ) for the same problem ; the lens do not respond (jam) when I shot it off. After 3 repair I have now the problem of a daisy (flow) image and still have the message concerning the objective not being close correctly.
I have insist to have my camera replace for a new one; waiting for the answer.
PS: Any one of you have the same problem? Steve ; inform me thank you. donacana@sympatico.ca..
