Your question was: Can I get finger prick blood tests while on Murad Acne Complex?.
Hey surfer chick,I was in the same boat as you, I posted on here about how worried I was also when I first started Murad Acne Complex. There is nothing to be embarrassed or worried about. I hate the thought of blood and veins and all of that too! I fainted in 3 of my blood tests and I am a fully grown man!....BUT!....what helped me out massively whilst in the blood tests in the end was taking a bottle of water in with me....once I was sat in the chair, I just started drinking the water whilst the blood was being taken.....it completely took my mind off of what was going on....try it. I have had 2 blood tests since the fainting episodes doing this and came out feeling normal!I hope it helps, let us know how you get on!Good luckDanny..
I'm not that happy seeing my blood streaming in a small bottle either, but just don't look at your vein at that moment. And think about something else. It's not that difficult...
Try these which has worked: Dont look. if it is a good doc, you may not even feel it. look away and dig your index finger's nail underneath your thumbs nail. it distracts the pain for me.Or I just be a man and say to myself " THIS IS FOR MY FUTURE CLEAR SKIN. I AM NOT GONNA BE A LIL SISSY BITCH, JUST TAKE THE DAMN NEEDLE!" (im not calling you all that, thats wat I say to myself)..
I had a phobia of ketchup. I couldn't be in the same room with it or i'd cry and start gagging. of course this became a problem once I started to go to school. so we went to the dr. she basically told me the same thing, don't think about it. a phobia is different than a fear, because a phobia can't really be supressed as easily.
Think about things totally off topic. i'd suggest you don't look during any of the process, even while they tie the band on your arm because then you'll only be thinking about it. if it helps, take a stress ball and squeeze it with your other hand while your thinking, or something like that. I just don't acknowledge ketchup as hard as it is for me. like if I see it I try really hard not to think "oh that's ketchup" or I get really sick to my stomach and have to leave before I start freaking out..
I have a friend that is like that pertaining to cotton balls. If you even say cotton balls he will freak out, cover his ears and start yelling just so he won't hear the words. One day, another buddy of mine tossed an entire box on him and he ran like 3 blocks down the street. Crazy stuff...
