Hello, I am new to the program and have a question. Afternoon is my worst time with snacks. It is the only time both my kids are napping and I can kick my feet up for a bit. This is when I usually am starving and raid the pantry. Today, I had a string cheese and an orange. Great.

Can I eat "free foods" as an extra snack or is this not allowed? Thanks!..

Or try gulping down some extra water, helps me sometimes...

Agree with Linda - be sure you're having your water. If you need another afternoon snack, try an unlimited veggie. I like cucumber slices dipped (lightly) in FF Ranch dressing or vinegar. Some people love their baby carrots. Some people recommend a sugar free jello. And some like hot tea.

Another idea is to have a heavier protein. Instead of string cheese, try a Greek style yogurt. They are really filling.

Find what works for you. But remember - the plan works!! Follow it faithfully and you WILL lose weight!..

I agree with all of the above, especially the water! If you really guzzle all the water, you'll be surprised how filling it is...

I have this problem too- the late afternoon is my worst snack time. All great ideas here- the only other thing I was going to add was some kind of a drink treat. For me, I use either Crystal Light or some flavored seltzer. Oh, and sugar free gum I couldn't live with out it!.

Good luck.

I keep a big container of celery I have already cut into snack size pieces, and organic baby carrots (extra sweet) in the fridge. All I need to do is grab them There is also baby cucumbers that don't need to be cut up. Super yum.

I have been buying Satisfaction yogurt. It says it keeps you feeling fuller longer. I don't know about that, I haven't done a doubble blind study or anything But it tastes good and I have been using it as either my morning protein or afternoon snack, and haven't felt snacky after eating it.

Depending on the flavors.. they are around 70-80 cals, 0.2g fat, and 7+g of protein. There are sugars in it, but I am not too fussed about it, I am still loosing weight well and hey, I am not snacking on crap..
