First off, Can anyone help me with a Nutrisystem recipe? Thanks for any comment. Another question I got... I'm a man with 100+ lbs to loose, what is the correct calories intake?.

I been wondering why I started gaining weigh and figured I wasn't eating properly so I added it all up on the log journal here,.

Here is my food list,.

Breakfast QTY/Unit.

Blueberry Muffin 1 Muffin 170.0.

Ham, low-fat 2 oz 59.9.

Banana 1/2 med 52.5.

Bread, whole-wheat 1 slice 68.9.

Add more food to Breakfast Total 351.3.

Morning Snack QTY/Unit.

Yogurt, nonfat 8 oz 80.0.

Plums 1 fruit 30.4.

Add more food to Morning Snack Total 110.4.

Lunch QTY/Unit.

Beans & Ham Soup 1 Container 150.0.

Carrots, raw 1 cup 25.0.

With 2 tbsp. fat free dressing, if desired 20.0.

Tomato 1 medium 25.8.

Add more food to Lunch Total 220.8.

Afternoon Snack QTY/Unit.

Pretzels 1 Package 120.0.

Add more food to Afternoon Snack Total 120.0.

Dinner QTY/Unit.

Oriental Steak with Green Peppers and Noodles 1 Entree 220.0.

Tomato, canned 1 1/2 cup 66.0.

With 2 tbsp. fat free dressing, if desired.

Broccoli, cooked 1/2 cup 21.8.

Vegetable or Fruit.

Mayonnaise 1 tsp 50.6.

Bread, whole-wheat 1 slice 68.9.

Add more food to Dinner Total 427.3.

Dessert QTY/Unit.

Nutrisystem Dessert Entre.

Fudge Brownie 1 Package 170.0.

Add more food to Dessert Total 170.0.

Total Calories.


1400 calories averaged a day..

I guess I need to throw another carb in at dinner and another fruit at lunch..

Just seems funny that I lost 7.4 lbs the first week then my weight jumped up after the weigh in by 4 lbs and has slowly been going away but still have 2 lbs to lose to get back where I was on Monday..

I've been 100% everyday except Saturday dinner but I made wise choices for that dinner..

What do ya'll think?..

Ye, but... you might wanna make sure and wait for someone else to confirm my answer as I am not completely sure. Better yet, why don't you ask the Nutrisystem guys because they can answer your Nutrisystem question better...

Found out some interesting figures about my caloric needs from.


And what my deficit caloric intake needs to be to lose with this one.


These were very helpful for me..

I average.

1200 calories intake.

450 calories burned per day.

Your caloric needs change as your weight decreases..

I'm 6' tall and 199lbs..

That first link says I need to eat 2600 calories for fat loss!!!!!.

That's a frickn' small pizza different in calories! lol..

I'm chalking this up as my body is in shock due to I probably ate 3000-4000 calories a day before I started Nutrisystem. But I'll include my extra add-ins...

Right about now Poly would tell you to "eat a ginormous salad" LOL.

Are you just starting out on your journey here?.

First two weeks are hard, your body was used to the flow of your intake, fruits and vegetables weren't showing up in the digestive tract that much before (just guessing, of course)? It's kind of like switching your gas to ethanol; you'll still work, but it takes a little getting used to...

The first link said I needed to eat 2500 calories for fat loos as, that seems like a lot! I'm not sure I could choke down that much food anymore!..

Mine says extreme fat loss at 1592, I'm good at 1200..

We ain't calculators, we each need different amounts of fuel..

I think we all know our needs by now, as opposed to wants..

But talk to a counselor if you wish, they are there for these questions..

Give them a call, you're paying for that service...

Men with under 100 to lose average 1500 calories a day on the plan..

Men with over 100 to lose average 1800...

In that case I don't feel bad about eating a small steak the size of a deck of cards!.

That calculator tells me 2700 calories per day. I guess that sounds about right but I used to be able to eat that between breakfast and lunch. At least.....

If that is the case, you are not drinking enough water. In addition, make sure you take a multi-vitamin every day. I am serious, if you were serious!..

I take a multi-vitamin so I'm good, as for pooping, I don't poop as much compare to before starting the nutrisystem. It's like my body is actually using everything instead of passing it all...

You're over-analyzing day to day variations. Look at the big picture. 5.4 pounds down in a week and a half..

There is no magic calorie amount that causes weight loss. There is no "setpoint". The less you eat, the more you lose. As a 300 lber, you will lose fine on 1800 (or 1500 or 2000). It's just calorie math...

Well I told myself I want to give Nutrisystem the most fairest try at helping me loose my weight. So I wanted to make sure I eat what ever they recommend that I eat instead of under eating..

I am also starting a weight lifting routine to get my muscle working and get my "Machine" in burning mode. No heavy lifting just repetitive reps at low weight to get my body moving and learn the proper posture before I tackle heavy weight in the future..

But yesterday and today was plague with lower back pain, which is odd cause I didn't do anything to cause it. So I'm taking it easy today along with still moving and watching my posture to not flare the pain anymore then needed...

I average between 1650 and 1850 calories a day....I have been on Nutrisystem since 06-07-10 and to date have lost 53.5 lbs.....this calorie average seems to be working just fine for me.....But I am also doing the Nutrisystem D plan.......

I have been averaging about 1650 per day since Feb. Has worked pretty well I intend to gradually lower until I hit 1500 per day in the next couple of months...
