Question I have... Can a dog on a grain-free Dukan Diet eat oatmeal? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Second question.. I took a very old WW cookbook and modified a recipe to fit NS. Most of the middle of this quiche is cauliflower, but you would never know it..

-1/2 cup eggbeaters.

-2 eggs.

-2 oz. light shredded cheese.

-2 1/2 cups parboiled (steamed) cauliflower.

-6-8 oz. cooked, shelled shrimp.

-1 small can mushrooms (or fresh).

-1/2 cup minced onion.

-salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat eggs and eggbeaters. Add cauliflower, shrimp, mushrooms, onion, and seasonings-mix well. Pour mixture into pie pan sprayed with Pam. Sprinkle cheese on the top and cook for 50 min. to 1 hour or until the center is set.

I like it with salsa but my kids like it with cocktail sauce..

I'm trying to figure out what this counts as. I believe it's 2 proteins/dairy (eggs, cheese and shrimp), 1 Vegetable (cauliflower, onion and mushrooms). Hope you enjoy it..

-Shelly..

The answer is Yes, however you might wanna make sure and wait for someone else here to confirm this as I am unsure. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the Dukan Diet guys because they can give you an answer better...

Are you counting this as one serving or multiple servings?.

1/2 Cup of Egg beaters = 1 protein.

2 eggs = 2 proteins.

6 - 8 oz of shrimp = 3 - 4 proteins.

2 oz of light cheese = 2 dairy.

Mushrooms and onions are so small in calories there's no major problem.

2 1/2 cups of cauliflower = 5 veggies (again it veggies, but not listed under the unlimited).

Just be careful, that you aren't counting this all of one meal..

If you are preparing meals (or doing NS) on your own, remember to consider the following:.

Breakfast.

2 Protein/Dairy: Example: 2 Eggs.

1 Fruit: Example: 1 Small Apple.

1 Carbohydrate: Example: 1 Slice Rye toast.

Lunch.

2 Protein Servings: Example Grilled chicken (2ounces).

1 salad: Example: 1 small dinner salad.

2 carbohydrates: Example 2/3 cup of Brown Rice.

1 Fat: Example: 1 tsp of Olive Oil.

Dinner.

3 Proteins: Example: 6 ounces of Shell fish.

2 Vegetable servings: Example: Mixed vegetable Medley.

2 Fats: Example 5 olives in your salad.

1 Carbohydrate; Example Smaller dinner roll.

1 salad.

The above information was forwarded to me but the original source of information came from the dieticians here at NS..

Good luck...

Thank you! I've been trying to find this info. This is the guidelines for eating off plan, right?..

She stated that she ate 1/4 of this recipe..

I halved the recipe to cook it for my lunch and would have eaten the whole thing (the half recipe) if I had figured the stats first! It came to 240 for the whole half recipe, but I sadly had already given the other half to my DD..

Very YUMMY!..

Hello Dlekapj, you know I actually read the post twice before responding and didn't see where she only ate 1/4 and after reading your post I went back again. Good catch. I raised the question because we're helpers one to another. Wouldn't want anyone to hinder their efforts unknowingly..

Enjoy the quiche!..

Happens to us all the time Angela!.

I hope my quick answer didn't sound offensive! None meant at all..I was just wishing I had eaten the whole thing, it was SO good!.

I'm thinking a similiar recipe in the AM with some spinach for breakfast!..

Confused by the info above. Is this total for day or do you still add in afternoon fruit & dairy/protein and dessert?..
