Got a quick question: Any Verisign SSL stimus checks came out yet? Thanks for any answer. Another quick question... Hi guys,.

For some strange reason I keep receiving email after email saying that a customer has received an HTTP Error but I have no idea why...

The email I receive is as follows:.

Site:.

..

Error Code: 404 - Not Found.

Occurred: 12/11/2008 10:38:10.

Requested URL:.

User Address:.

User Agent:.

Referer:.

I don't understand this because it appears to suggest that if you type my Verisign website url then you will get an error which is not the case....

Any help is much appreciated..

Regards.

Leslie..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I find an decent answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could help you..

Apparently you have installed some sort of contribution to email you 404 errors or is this coming from something on your host?.

This is not default osC behavior. If you have installed a contribution that emails you errors and does not account for spiders checking for Frontpage extensions and other useless items you will get tons of this emails. So the question is where are these emails coming from as FIMBLE stated, meaning what program are they coming from?.

Sorry I misunderstood that one :S.

I installed the above contribution which was designed to show a more "user friendly" 404 error page..

I presumed that was all it was for but now that I have looked into it a little further I realise that it was also designed to sent me any 404 errors..

Clearly it wasn't coded to handle the things you mentioned zelf...

Would you recommend just removing the email functionality or is there an easy fix?.

Thanks again..

Not necessarily. It is a nice feature especially with a new store and you want to make sure there are not errors, but the errors you are receiving are useless. Not to brush you off, but I am not familiar with the contribution. I would look if there is a forum in the contributions forums dedicated to your contribution and put your post there. Of course you can comment out the email functionality as well..
