This morning I had checked if I was on ketosis. Well according to the strips it was moderate..

I took another test at night after drinking plenty of water and the test results came out small..

Maybe it was the water that caused it to be small rather then moderate..

Anyone know if this is a good sign that I am on ketosis?..

Staying on plan is a good sign that you're in ketosis. Medifast creates a very mild state of ketosis and Medifast does not recommend the testing strips as they are unreliable for this diet. Just stay OP and you're doing it right...

Freya gae you some great advice. No need to use them. stay op and you'll be fine..

Yes, Lots of water before testing will dilute your results, thus making them unreliable...

For what it's worth, I check occasionally and I have never showed any signs of ketosis according to the strips. However, I would guess that losing 4+ pounds a week for 20 weeks without being hungry is a much better indication that the plan is working than what a test strip says.

Don't get too wrapped up in them; there's a reason that Nutrisystem recommends we don't use them...

Lol The Medifast diet alone won't put you on ketosis. It normally got to do something else like exercise.

The strips don't lie and eating extra fat may give you a moderate ketosis but that don't mean you are on ketosis. Fat is fat so your body don't know the difference. If you cut your fat intake and you have a reading on the strips then you know for sure that you are on ketosis..

That is why when you exercise your strips show moderate. You can easily duplicate the medifast diet with muscle milk light. It has 100 calories, 15 grams of protein, they use casein protein which prevents hunger longer and it's much cheaper..

BTW it has less fat then Medifast so that will cause a more rapid weight loss and keep you on ketosis longer. If you want to copy Medifast then just eat extra vegetables..

Glad I thought of this...

Oops meant to say carbs not fat. My fault...

Hot Voltage, You got the info from the nutritional folks... they have more accurate info than us lay people.

Foghorn why are you going around promoting other products, and giving advice that's not accurate?.

That's not appropriate...

How many accounts do you have norilee. You must be some kind of a psychotic witch or something.

Normal people only have one account. Makes more sense doesn't it...

Medifast puts us in a very mild state of ketosis (any diet that puts your carbs under 100 will put you in mild ketosis), one that does not always show on keto stix. You can search the.

Registered Dietician forum and will see this answer time and time again. This is not just me saying this. They also recommend against using ketostick while on Medifast as the reading can be so minimal, the strips are NOT reliable.

Perhaps you should search the appropriate forums before you answer a question with such authority. Also, while there are products out there with similar nutritional properties, none of them exactly duplicate Medifast and are not relaible to ensure the kinds of losses that you get on MF..

And a last thought - One would have to ask YOU how many accounts you have, since I have never seen you post here before, and yet with your very 4th post, you immediately attack another member...
