I am soooo frustrated with 1&1, and I need advice. They have a really weird billing system first of allwhich can be a blessing and a curse. It is playing out as the latter in this case. I currently have 67 names with them, most paid for..

There was a billing issuemy paypal count was acting weird and the funds didint go through. I got an email stating I needed to resolve within 7 calender days, I promptly sent an email stating this would be resolved with the time frame. I called today PST, missed them as they were EST, and they locked my account. You also type in the url you get a weird screen. I am sooo frustrated.

I of course will call in the morningI just hope they dont pull anything. Can registrars play god like this? Okay I learned a lesson a big lesson. Has anyone else been through this.

I wouldn't worry. And yes, they have the right to close the domains if they are not paid for. Most of the time when a payment is not made the registrar will close it for a couple of weeks. In some cases the domain will remain in a "closed" state for about a month. During this period, you have the ability to either discontinue ownership of the domain or renew payment. After the time period, however, the domain will become available again. If it's only been a day you should be fine...

As it is 59 of those names are paid for. 1&1 has a really weird billing system. They locked everything within there requested time-frame, I cant even pay. Yes I am sure I can work it out but I guess unless you have been apart of the 1&1 billing chaosI finally understand why so many have have had problems...

Ugh.. another dissatisfied 1and1 customer.. how surprising!.

Not laughing at you but try searching for "1and1 sucks" sometime.. you'll see what I mean.. they absolutely reek as a domain registrar. Many of us have had run-ins with 1and1 in the past.

I cancelled my domains online, but because I didn't also mail in a cancellation in time, they locked the domains AND tried billing me for the cancelled domains. Luckily, I removed my credit card from the account before they could do that...

Yes, I had a problem like this too when I had to cancel my credit card due to loss and tried to assure them that I would be paying when I got my new card. Extremelly rude support. They almost called me a criminal...

They are the worst!!!..

Assuming you want to keep the names you will just have to keep cool and find a way to pay them...then systematically transfer out and cancel all the contracts. 1+1 are total rubbish...
